Wow! What a great truck!
I enjoy my Dodge Dakota because not only is it a safe, reliable and sturdy truck, but it has great handling and has awesome pickup. It's a comfortable ride, it is easy to clean and maintain and has plenty of storage capacity. Living in the rural area of the mountains, it is really important that I have a truck that can handle the performance that is required for rugged roads, and the Dodge Dakota not only handles the drive, but seems to have increased performance capacities when taking mountain roads. Don't let that fool you about city driving, though- the Dodge Dakota is just as proud of a steed on urban roads as it is on rural ones. The gas mileage is great as well, I often am getting over twenty-five and over miles to the gallon. One thing that some people might not like as much about the Dodge Dakota is its smaller size. While not as small as some mid-sized trucks on the market, it is smaller than others. This does not seem to be that much of an issue in our family, as drivers of the Dodge Dakota vary in height from five foot two inches to six foot two inches.

Overall very comfortable, does what you need it to do with no thrills. Have had since 2005 and almost 100,000 miles on it. Only work that has been done is change the oil, replaced the tires, replaced the front brakes, and a battery. It has a v6 engine, sort of wished I had a V8. It gets about 17 mpg overall average. It as a club cab, so that while a couple people could sit in the back, it is not very comfortable for after a period of time. It has made many trips getting heavy bags of gravel with no power issue. It does not have much of the electronics and all the goodies that the cars on now have, which makes it very prehistoric with that. But is has always done all the work. The ride is smooth and not much road noise, the paint has had no issues like past dodge trucks with painting and clear coat falling off. Just a very dependable, reliable truck, which you can not say enough of considering how much money it costs to purchase. I would definitely without hesitation purchase this vehicle again without a doubt. Performance is a little on the weak side but it does its thing considering its big brother Ram and a smaller engine.

The Dodge Dakota is a good vehicle for those who need a truck to haul things, but also need passenger capacity. At ten years old, the paint job is almost new with very little rusting. In the previous year, I have had no problems with starting. At this point, the vehicle is close to reaching 200,000 miles, which will naturally cause some problems to occur. Recently, I have noticed a ticking sound when the car is first started. I have had no major breakdowns. The only major repair I have had to conduct was replacing a ball joint that became broken after sliding into a curb on and icy road.
