Love my 2005 Santa Fee
My navy blue 2005 six-cylinder Santa Fe is a workhorse. I bought it new; it was my second Santa Fe. It is a sedan-based (not truck-based) SUV, so it handles likes a car and not like a truck. The car has a leather interior and all of the bells and whistles available at the time. Gas mileage is about 19 city and 22 highway. It sits high which gives me good visibility. The moon roof is a pleasure in the spring and autumn, but it does make a lot of noise when the car travels over 50 MPH. I live in San Francisco where parking is an ever-worsening problem. However, the Santa Fe is a good size and maneuverable enough to parallel park with little problem. It handles well - it's not a Porsche, but it's not a clumsy truck either. Five adults can sit comfortably. The back seats fold down individually which greatly increases the "trunk" capacity. Finally, the warranty is terrific. Hyundai doesn't try to skirt around it - it is what they say it is.

Overall, a smooth ride for a SUV, but this year and model does have its hiccups with maintenance and recalls.
The vehicle rides smoothly and picks up speed rather quickly. What I do not like about the vehicle is prior to getting to 35,000 miles, I had to go to the dealership rather than to Midas or Firestone to have many parts replacements due to malfunctions and several errors causing the engine light to come on; a total of four errors at once. There are recalls for my make/model and year of Santa Fe every year, which is an inconvenience. Otherwise, the vehicle is OK for driving occasionally to and from work. I do take it on long-distance trips every few years to "air it out" going over 800+ miles, and it gets me to where I need to go without any hassles.
