Oldschool, muscle, classic
One thing I love about my vehicle is the classic and yet still unique look to it. No cars have the shape or look of a 3rd generation Firebird, and I get lots of compliments. It also is faster than any modern car I have driven, even though it is a 1992 model. It handles very well too and stops quickly for old drum brakes. I also love the interior as it doesn't have a glove box or unneeded storage. It is very basic, and you can see well out of the windshield. One thing I dislike is the fact that it is an old car, lots of parts/hoses/interior panels will mysteriously break or be missing, and I have to find replacements. This is due to wear and tear over the years. I also disliked having to work on old headlights (pop up headlights) even though I love the pop up head lights, working on them constantly was a pain. I also didn't like the turn radius, the car was old and long so you couldn't do U-turns or maneuver around well at all.

This car is my baby
I like this car because it's a sports car. It looks nice, and I really like how it looks with the T-tops off. It's fun to drive, and it handles really well. It may not be too practical since it's a sports car. It only has a hatchback, no trunk, and is only a two door. But I find I can manage well without a truck, and I actually prefer two door cars. It's green and I'm not that fond of green, but people have told me that it looks like it's another color at night. One person said it looked like it was black, and another one said it actually looked purple! Everyone loves to drive it, including my son who has told me he prefers it over his car. It performs well, considering how old it is and how many miles it has on it. It has had its maintenance issues and has had many repairs like a new radiator, for example. It does not have that greatest gas mileage, but I can't really complain. It's dependable and reliable. The interior still looks good. There are some minor things like a crack in the dashboard that I am going to get fixed, but it's clean and well kept. It has a nice sounding stereo that I enjoy listening to. I have loved owning it, and having had it a while, I'd actually hate to give it up!

Decent car that needed better care
First of all, I should state that I bought the car used and horribly taken care of before me, so many of the negatives will most likely come from that. I guess, being a child of the 80's, I was always in love with the mid to late 80's style of the Pontiac Firebird. The car just always cool. Mine, however, wasn't loved as much before I bought it. I think the guy that owned it before me wanted to turn it in to a race car, but gave up and sold it. He broke the original hood attempting to remove the engine to rebuild it. That's how my red Firebird had a black Trans Am hood on it. Honestly, that didn't really bother me. I was 21, it was my first car, I just thought it made it look cooler! But there were other issues. I forgot why, but the ignition needed to be replaced within a week after I bought it. Also, with the "work" the previous owner put into the car, he either removed and forgot to replace, or otherwise broke the transmission mounts, so whenever you stomped on the gas, the transmission would lurch forward and "kick" the engine. He also forgot to reattach the speedometer and odometer, so I never knew how fast I was going. Luckily, I never got pulled over. The only other major downside was the drivers seat was broken and couldn't stay up on it's own, so I had to prop it up with a milk crate. Other than that, I loved that car. I'm sure that now, 10 years later, I'd still be driving it, had it been in better condition before I bought it. Mechanically, everything was fine. Power windows and locks, heat and ac, radio, it all worked just fine.
