Good student car
I got this car used and it's still running with 185k miles on it. The car drives really well, is comfortable, and gets decent mileage considering its age and size.
And it's ROOMY, the trunk is huge, all of the passengers have ample legroom, and I don't feel bad if I've got a full load of people in it.
But, there’s some negatives to it also. There are major blind spots for the driver, which makes driving it in the city a bit of an “experience” because you constantly have to be looking over your shoulder to see what’s behind you.
Since I bought my car used, it has some problems that you might want to look out for: sometimes the car seems to be “dead” and it won’t start, although it’s always started eventually. That’s the only major mechanical problem I’ve ever had with it. It’s performed really well for such an old / high-mileage car.
I’m a filmmaker, so I always have to carry around a lot of equipment. Between the spacious back seat and the large trunk, I’ve never ran out of space to store the things I need to do my job.

This car has been reliable
I was pleased with the value we got out of the car especially considering it was used and the price we paid for it. I liked the look of the car. The interior and exterior were pleasing to both me and my spouse. I believe we got decent gas mileage out of it. We did have to do some work to the muffler but, considering the amount of use we and the previous owners got out of of the vehicle, some maintenance is to be expected. The air conditioner and the heater worked great which is good when you have children.

The Grand Am A Grand Slam!
This car was my second vehicle and a great step up from my first. Being used it had it's issues but, proves to be a worthy vehicle. Prices for these cars are great and are easily attainable. If you are looking for a good priced vehicle that looks good and needs to last then I definitely recommend looking into the Pontiac family. This car has been through a lot with me since I bought it (including a Maine to Florida move) and has held up very well. This car (if you live in the North) also did surprisingly well in the snow and through icy conditions.
