I was looking for a small car to take on road trips to bicycle races. The storage space is large enough that I can fit my bike and all my gear inside the car so I don't need a bike rack. It gets really good gas mileage because it's a hybrid. I have gotten up to 40 mpg on the highway. One thing I don't like about it is the auto stop function. The engine will cut off if I'm stopped, and the car is in neutral. Sometimes I don't mind it. I just wish there was a way to switch it off if I can't be bothered with it. I also wish they had put in a back sit. There is definitely plenty of room for one, it even has pseudo bucket seats in the back. It would probably make the car much more desirable to purchase. Other than that, it's a fun car to drive, especially if I put it in Sport mode. I have n... (more)
Story
My boyfriend and I drove it from Virginia to Florida and back for a wedding. We had a lot of fun on the way back, stopping more times than necessary to goof around. We turned a 12-hour drive into an 18 hour one!
Pros
Gas mileage. Lots of room.
Cons
Auto stop function.

We purchased a "certified" used Honda CR-Z from the local Honda dealer and were looking forward to getting good mileage since it only had a little over 30,000 miles on it and had been thoroughly checked out by the dealer. Unfortunately, in one month of driving this car gets only 21 miles per gallon in city driving despite having a not-too-peppy 4-cylinder engine. This is well below what the salesman told us and what the windshield ticket touted. My wife drives the car most of the time and she does not drive in an aggressive manner that would reduce he mileage so we need to get this checked out in case it's a symptom of a bigger problem. Fortunately we paid for an extended warranty, which may come in handy from the way it looks.
Story
Locked ourselves in when we couldn't figure out the childproof locks.
Pros
Nice interior with leather, moonroof, premium sound system. Handles well and comfortable ride.
Cons
Poor mileage in city driving. Also, this car has a small gas tank so between that and the poor mileage it seems like you are always filling up. Honda's tend to retain their resale value so you have to pay a premium for these vehicles on the used car market.
