I liked the smooth handling of the Mercury Cougar and the stylish look. I also like that it has good gas mileage and air conditioning. My overall experience is positive as it has lasted a long time. The only thing I do not like is the air conditioning takes a brief amount of time to become cool.
Story
I purchased the car after my previous car was destroyed in a tornado and found it a great buy and smart purchase.
Pros
Smooth handling. Stylish appearance. Good gas mileage. Comfortable seats. Nice interior. Great stereo. Good tires. Quiet engine. Great hatchback. Roomy back seat. Nice color. Great paint job. Great headlights. Easy handling.
Cons
Air conditioner doesn't get cold right away.

The 2002 Mercury Cougar was my first car, and it was not without faults. The first thing I noticed about was its style. The Cougar was perfect for any kind of driving, but it shined when you wanted to go out with friends, as there was more than enough space to go around for a coupe model. Driving the car was also a great time, as it had some pep to it when you stepped on the gas. It had a V6 engine, capable of moving fast when needed. It accelerated quickly, and cut off power at just over 110 miles per hour. This made it a machine that ... (more)
Pros
This vehicle wasn't as expensive as similar models who offered the same performance. It was also a nice comfortable ride. There was room for a few friends, making it an even bigger bargain. Fuel economy wasn't egregious, which was also nice with the rising price of oil.
Cons
The steering wasn't as responsive as I would have liked. The acceleration wasn't too bad, but handling and navigating tight roads was rather poor. I am also concerned about the transmissions they used for these cars, because i felt that after just 60 or 70 thousand miles, there were more and more issues with it.
