Overall, this car is a great beginner car. It continues to get me around town without any issues. While the aesthetics are not top notch, it is a stable car that will get you where you need to go. This car is great for someone who is just starting out because it is built well and will keep you safe and also does not have all of the extra gadgets that frequently break down and require extra maintenance. While this was not my first car, it has definitely lasted me quite a few years and has gotten me through quite a few snow storms without incident. It is a car that parents can feel safe putting their child in.
Story
Despite the looks of this vehicle, it handles remarkably well in the snow and ice which is something that I did not expect. Growing up in cold and snowy climates, I have done my fair share of snowy driving, and this car has definitely held up to the need. One particular time that always makes me chuckle was when my mom, who has a 2015 Ford Fusion, was trying to get out of our driveway and was ... (more)
Pros
The pros of this car definitely outnumber the cons. This car is built like a truck. It is very sturdy and does not break easily. I have also had to have minimal work done to it besides routine maintenance. It is a perfect starter car because while it has everything that you need, it does not have all of the extras that require all of the frequent maintenance.
Cons
I would say the number one most negative thing about this vehicle is the aesthetic portion. It is not a very attractive car. Mine is grey with black stripes around the bottom. It is not the most attractive but it works. It also doesn't have the most comfortable fabric seats, but they do what they are meant to do.

2001 Pontiac Sunfire - Does well on gas and gets you from point A to point B.

The things that I liked about this vehicle is that it is a four door. I have seen other cars like it, like the Chevy Cavalier, and found that the two door is too much of a hassle, especially when you are constantly putting things in and out of the back seat. Even though they pretty much are the same vehicle, I prefer the Pontiac Sunfire. The build is quite exceptional. There are no rattles, and I have driven well over 200,000 miles. I have had this car close to close to 20 years, and only in the past year of two I have started to notice some rust spots. The interior materials look and feel like decent quality not the highest grade of leather interior more like the standard kind they use in most vehicles, but it still looks nice. Overall, it has held up well over time. I have experience... (more)
Story
One memorable moment was when I didn't notice that I was low on gas until I came to a light and the check gauges light came on. I had to ride around for what seemed like 10-15 minutes. The car still did not run out. It got me to the gas station safe and sound, so that kind of let me know how much time I have until I completely run out.
Pros
Big trunk space, hidden spare tire compartment, fuel efficient, four door, plenty of back seat room, and smooth ride.
Cons
Not very attractive and no automated locks or windows.
