If there was anything to dislike about this great car it would have to be the fact that when I bought it I bought it at over 100k miles. Other than that, the handle and overall build of this vehicle is ideal for the family car that fits my style and my family. It has a very spacious interior with premium leather seats; most of the time you would expect more space in the front (like the friends that always want to ride shotgun) but it's more of a shock to them to find out that the back seats are far roomier. The V6 engine is powerful (you pay for the large frame on the MPG especially in this day and time) but it comes with the name and brand. I've had yet to take it in for any serious service or maintenance; it's that reliable and long-lasting.
Story
One of my fondest memories had to be going on a trip with my friends to have Sushi in Sacramento. Out of all of the days we chose, we ended up in one of the worst rain storms possible. I'm not too experienced when it comes to bad weather and if I'd been alone in the car in the downpour I would've probably chickened out and called it a day. But having my friends in the car with me gave me the c... (more)
Pros
The leather seating, the spacious interior and large-capacity trunk space; The front panel is simple and easy to follow and not cluttered (although being 2002 there weren't too many technological breakthroughs). For the fancy tape-drive lover it is one of the last models to feature both a tape and CD drive. The heating and cooling systems are fast and responsive; this helps immensely during the cold winters and the need of defrosting the interior side of the windows.
Cons
One really top negative thing about this vehicle, and it had to be specific to the car I have, had to be that the tape drive ended up breaking beyond repair. It's a bummer not having a tape drive to put in the MP3 attachment to the tape.

Overall, I would rate the 1997 Toyota Avalon very highly. Despite being over fifteen years old at this point, it runs very well and I've never seen a car that old that was comparable to the long-lasting quality of the Avalon. It looks appealing and runs very smoothly, handling much of what the road throws at it. It feels spacious enough inside, and the seats are very comfortable. The trunk is also perfectly spacious and great for carting lots of big packages around. It's fun to drive, and has rarely needed to go to the shop for anything; I've really only taken it in for annual check-ups as it gets older, just to make sure nothing is wrong. My biggest complaint about this car would be how long the front is -- despite being a slim car, it's sometimes hard to park in compact spaces beca... (more)
Pros
The best thing about this vehicle is how reliable it is, even after fifteen+ years. My favorite features are the easy steering and comfortable interior, and the peace of mind that comes along with driving such a reliable vehicle.
Cons
The fact that it's so long is not very desirable, as it makes maneuvering on slopes difficult sometimes, as well as parking in compact spaces.

This automobile dealership was a great place to purchase a vehicle because it was close and I did not have to drive out too far to make a purchase. The dealership was pretty clean and professional because it looked very organized. The variety of cars available for purchase were limitless because there were new and used cars up for sale. The price ranges and leasing options for vehicles were reasonable and affordable, however, it never hurts to haggle or negotiate for a lower price. Overall, I thought this car dealership was an amazing place to purchase my first car because they helped me make the process of purchasing a car painless and easy.

I was in and out in less than 5 hours. I know what I wanted, I knew the price I wanted and there was not much drama. I made sure to state my price or they won't get my offer. I expected what I wanted and they finally accepted after a few hours of talk with their bosses. I signed the paperwork and left with my new car.
