I love my Prius. It is cheap to run (~45 mpg), and it is cheap to maintain. I have only put new tires and routine maintenance into it, even though it has 120,000 miles on it. I have never even put brakes on it for the +60,000 miles I've put on it. My only complaint would be its poor performance in the winter. If another car is produced that gets similar gas mileage but is all-wheel-drive, I will make the switch away from the Prius.
Story
Driving to work one day with an open road (no stop-and-go) and averaging 75 mpg. We have a lot of hills and mountains here, and you can drive for miles and miles on electric current if there's no one around to slow you down.
Pros
Very cheap to run. We travel about fifty miles a day and generally put less than seven gallons of gas in the car each week. We live Pennsylvania, a state with one of the highest costs in gasoline, and it is rare that we spend more than $20 per week on gas. In fact, the gas savings from our old car (which got around 12 mpg) was enough to cover most of the payment for the Prius.
Cons
In the winter, the Prius is basically useless. We have a SUV that we drive rarely until Jan-Feb, then we jump back in the Prius. Intend to stay with the Prius until the Tesla 3 comes down in price, or until a Chevy Volt is made in all-wheel drive. I hope Toyota takes a cue and makes a hybrid or electric all-wheel drive car or else it will lose its northern customer base.

2009 Toyota Prius - I'm not sure I would buy another Prius

So my 2009 Prius has been a very reliable car since I bought it in 2009. It is a very low maintenance car. Most of the parts are sealed, so there isn't much maintenance to do. The car is great on gas. However, as the car has aged, I definitely don't get the same mpg's as when it was new. The car is pretty nice looking, I have the blue version. The car is not the most comfortable car to drive. The steering wheel is awkward to hold onto for long trips. I'm only 5'5, but when I sit in the car, my head nearly hits the roof. I wish it were more comfortable.
Story
My boyfriend loves this soda called Cheer wine. It isn't available in our state. On our last vacation to the Carolinas, he filled the entire Prius trunk with cases and cases of cheerwine.
Pros
The car is very quiet to drive. It has great fuel economy. The maintenance is very low on this car. If you don't spend hours in the car every day, it would be a great car.
Cons
The back window is very hard to see out of. The car is so short you have to hunch to drive. The steering wheel is awkward. The backup camera sucks. The car has built in "safety" features that are unsafe, such as if you have bags on the seat that are too heavy, it will think a child is there and will start beeping like crazy and then shut off the car.

They negotiated a fair price. Actually the list price 13000 was pretty fair to begin with, but they allowed me to take it off their hands for a little more than 11 grand. They were very nice and did not pressure me into buying a car today like most other dealerships. Finally, they had decent financing options which made the car affordable for my budget.

This dealership provided some really great customer service. The employees at the dealership were friendly, efficient, patient, and fair. I got a great deal when I traded in my old car. Overall, I felt very comfortable at this dealership and would happily use them again when it came time to purchase a brand new vehicle in the future.
