Toyota Prius Owner Ratings & Reviews

2011 Toyota Prius - It is an excellent car and very good value for the money.
It delivers excellent gas mileage, which cannot be beaten. It has lots of standard safety features, lots of cabin and cargo space that most other cars in its class. It is very compact and comfortable, and it lasts a very long time on the road. It drives really smooth and has a quiet ride except when it is recharging. It does not need much maintenance, and it is keyless entry.
Story
We were on a canoeing trip, and coming back we ran out of gas. But luckily, we were near someone's home, and we stopped and asked to charge the car so we could get to the nearest gas station.
Pros
I like the Prius because it is eco-friendly, and I am a big environmentalist, so this automatically draw me to make the purchase. Secondly, the gas mileage is great 44mph on the highway can't be beaten. It has a great amount of cabin and cargo space than most vehicles in its class and can seat up to five people. The ride is smooth and quiet and does not require much maintenance.
Cons
It does not have as much power as others in its class and there is a big blind spot due to the slope of the windows. There is a need for a jack on wheels to change the tires as it cannot be placed in neutral when its dead. Because it is a hybrid, if something breaks, it is very expensive to replace.
2009 Toyota Prius - A great money saver.
The build quality is great for the price. This is generally a given for Toyotas. It just feels well-made compared to other cars in its class. I love how fuel efficient it is. I can easily get 40-50 miles per gallon without any special driving tactics. I used to spend several hundred dollars a month on gas, and now I spend less than a hundred. It's also much easier to maintain than my previous vehicles. The parts don't wear out as easily, and the battery has a very long life. I haven't experienced any issues with key electronic components. I used to spend at least $1,000 per year getting my previous car serviced, but now I spend a mere fraction of that. The biggest cost so far has been new tires.
Story
When going out with friends, we would play "pack the Prius" and see how many of us we could fit in the entire car. I don't remember the maximum number but quite a few people can fit in there.
Pros
I think the biggest pro is the fuel efficiency. It's also very comfortable despite being relatively compact. You can fit a lot in this car, and you can fit this car into a lot of tight spaces. I can fit comfortably fit four passengers for extended trips, and parallel parking is a breeze. I love the displays and keyless fob. Lastly, the back-up camera is extremely useful. I don't know how I lived before without it.
Cons
The car lacks get-up-and-go of non-hybrids. This is most noticeable when you're trying to merge onto highways. If you live in an area that frequently has treacherous driving conditions, such as a lot of snow and icy roads, then this might not be the best vehicle as it lacks 4WD.
