We bought a Prius to take advantage of the HOV lane access it would afford. It took me about a year to enjoy the car mainly because I missed sitting up higher and the roominess of my previous vehicle. I have driven the Prius for over seven years now and it has more than proven itself! I love its reliability and fuel efficiency. It has 160K miles so far and is still running strong. The seats are still comfy. With the back seat folded down, I can easily transport big-box store shopping, or ten bags of mulch for fall yard work projects. The craftsmanship is wonderful on this car and I know I can expect at least another 100K miles on this vehicle. I am very pleased with my purchase.
Story
I enjoy being at a stoplight with my Prius and showing off its acceleration in "power" mode. In my hometown, there are many high-powered pickup trucks. I take great pleasure in accelerating quickly (safely, but quickly).
Pros
Reliability, fuel efficiency are my top positives. I like the Prius' display options for fuel consumption too. The radio is satisfactory and the air conditioner works beautifully after seven years. The engineering on this vehicle is marvelous. It has lasted longer than any other vehicle I have owned.
Cons
The Prius does not hold 4 adults comfortably. Three family members are over 6 feet tall so we do not take the Prius when we are all riding together. The rear view out of the hatchback took some getting used to and was an irritation to me for a long time. Other family members who sat taller in the driver's seat did not have the same issues of seeing clearly that I had.
