The Toyota Corolla is a wonderful vehicle for just about any situation. The 4-cylinder engine provides excellent gas mileage while maintaining good acceleration, and its side curtain airbags provide safety protection not often found in its class. Despite being a small car, interior space is thoughtfully utilized. There are plenty of nooks & crannies for storage, and the leg room is surprisingly large (even in the back seat) when compared to its competitors. The center console provides storage for larger items, and its dual cupholders with cell phone storage area lets everything fit just where you need it. Its trunk is also plenty large enough to carry at least four suitcases. In the back seat, additional cupholders provide room for guests to place beverages. There is also enough spa... (more)
Pros
- Safety features (side curtain air bags) - Good Gas Mileage - Surprising amount of leg room - Well-appointed options (CD changer, power windows/locks, cruise, etc) - Fantastic "bang for the buck"

This is my third Nissan in a row! I had a Pathfinder and then an Altima. I loved both of those vehicle and when I was ready to purchase a new vehicle, I knew it would be a Nissan. I wanted something that wasn't a car and wasn't necessarily a sport utility vehicle. In my search, I decided on the Rogue. I loved the way it looked and the options that were available to add onto the base model. As far as maintenance, I have been particularly pleased. I regularly change the oil and check fluids. The only small issues I have had were a leaking seal around the rear break light and a new rear wiper. The seal issue was covered under warranty and the wiper replacement was from normal wear and tear. I also get decent gas mileage with this vehicle. I don't have a far commute, but do notice that o... Story
I have used this vehicle on many long road trips with family members. My car has been to Atlantic City, NJ- Lewes, Delaware - Deep Creek, MD and a few other memorable locations. All of our road trips have been fun and my Rogue never gave me any trouble.
Pros
What I like about the vehicle is the functionality. It handles great on the road and does a good job in snowy conditions. I have the AWD model and like the comfort of knowing that I will be able to make it to work and home in the snow. I also like that the vehicle is the perfect size for me and the needs that I have. I am average height and not too tall. I have no trouble seeing in this vehicle and the blinds pot is minimal. The ride is good and there is space for up to 5 adults.

While it has specific advantages, this vehicle's drawbacks outweigh them. For one thing, it has been involved in over thirty vehicle recalls to date. Taking the car into the dealer for a recall, or service, requires taking time off work, and waiting an inordinate amount of time. I was given "free" oil changes. My last attempt was the third or fourth. After 4.5 Hours, with an appointment, I took the car and left, only to pay for an oil change elsewhere. Every time the vehicle does go into the dealer's service area (where customers are excluded), it comes out with something else wrong.
Story
One of the primary defects is compatible with my personality. The car will spontaneously accelerate, and there is no obvious way to control that. The problem having angered me sufficiently, early in ownership, I kicked the accelerator hard when it accelerated once. For whatever reason (& Toyota sure isn't interested), that immediately stopped the acceleration. The car went right back to normal... (more)
Pros
The car does get good gas mileage. If you avoid the dealer, it has a pretty good maintenance record, too. All the accessories seem to continue working, which is an advantage compared to American-made cars. As a driver in a small car, you have very good visibility in all directions simultaneously.
Cons
The ride is uncomfortable, especially over any appreciable distance. There have been numerous recalls. The dealership is designed to rip you off, and should be avoided at all costs, for all reasons. "Service" is a joke, and invariably ends with a new problem arising. Toyota North America will gladly tell you that, if the dealership is making quotas, they will not interfere for any consumer for any reason.
