This car is very reliable. I've been driving it for years with little problem. As long as you maintain the upkeep of this vehicle it will last. The car is old, and it's not as fast as the other newer cars out there, but it will get you where you need to go. Despite the car's age, it still runs well. The best part about having this car is that if something does break, it will be very cheap to replace the parts.
Story
The car is on the small side so one time during the Christmas season I went to the mall. There were a lot of cars driving around looking for parking, and I thought I'd be one of them. I saw a truck in front of me turn its blinker on for a spot ahead, but as they turned in, they backed away and left. I wondered why, but when I approached the spot, I saw that there was a huge mound of snow in th... (more)
Pros
I like how dependable the vehicle is. Toyotas these days are not built like they were 20 years ago. The 1996 Corolla is definitely one of the cars that were built to last. I like how light the car feels when I'm driving, and I like that it's a decent size. The mpg on the car is pretty amazing. I can get about 30 miles per gallon on the highway and 26 miles per gallon while city driving.
Cons
The car does not have good acceleration so it's tricky to drive on the highways. The sound system is also old so it lacks the depth and diversity of sound that other car speakers have these days.

This car was the perfect starter car. It was affordable and easy to drive. Both the steering wheel and brakes were not to sensitive. This was great considering it was the first car I ever practiced driving in. Aesthetically it looked a little too '90s for me, but what can you expect when you buy a car made in that decade? The interior was good but I would have preferred leather. This car was a base model, which means it didn't come with anything special like heated seats; however, since it is my first car I don't feel like I'm missing much.
Story
Driving to Vegas on one tank of gas was so much fun and oddly satisfying. It gave me a sense of pride towards my car.
Pros
The pros are it is easy to drive and has amazing gas mileage. From southern California, I could drive all the way to Vegas on one tank. It drove really smooth and was easy to use the mirrors. There wasn't too much of a blind spot, and the mirrors did a great job of highlighting all areas. I bought it for only $4,000 so it was incredibly affordable and on top of that needed little maintenance to keep it running well.
Cons
It came with a broken air conditioning system, which was hard to deal with on hot summer days. It had a dated look, and I like more modern looking cars as opposed to the '90s look.
