The Toyota Corolla S is your basic 4-door sedan with a little extra style. The gauge cluster is clear and well lit at night. It is a very basic car, with no bells and whistles. No powered or heated seats, for example. Mechanically, this car has been very reliable, with no unexpected issues arising. But, it is no speed demon. In fact, it is quite slow, with the 1.5L engine producing very little power. On the flip side, this makes it quite fuel efficient. The smaller size of the body makes it a great car for getting around congested cities.
Story
Taking friends to the movies in it is always fun ;)
Pros
Suspension and handling is "good enough" and reasonable for a car in this class. It is an economical vehicle and very fuel efficient. There aren't really any bad blind spots. The simplicity of the interior design/HVAC controls is refreshing - no frills and easy to understand.
Cons
The engine, while fuel efficient, is lacking decent power. With the A/C on, the power available is non-existent. The headlights will cloud and will require you to get a kit to clear them up. The exterior styling is a bit bland, but tries to living things up with a rear spoiler.

This is the third Toyota Corolla S that I have leased. I always felt safe in my Corolla's. I love the way my car feels when I'm driving. It has great handling and fast pick up. Very comfortable, especially when taking a long road trip. I have driven my car cross country twice without a problem. So, it is definitely a reliable vehicle. I haven't heard a strange noise or rattle, yet. I wasn't a big fan of the new body style, but I loved my previous Corolla's so much that I learned to like it. The interior seems a little smaller than the older version, but I can still fit 4 passengers very comfortably. It is definitely not a gas guzzler. I find myself filling my tank less often than most people and I do a lot more traveling. I also love that I can control my daytime running lights. In my ... (more)
Story
I was complaining that I had no place to put my spare change in the car. The cup holders were being used, since I had 3 people in the car. So, I threw my change (lightly, of course) and it all landed in my friends pocketbook. We laughed and took it as a sign of good luck, since we were on our way to a casino. I guess that's exactly what it was, because I won $800 that night!
Pros
I love how comfortable I feel in the drivers seat. I can adjust the seat to my level of comfort. The air conditioner is very powerful. My Corolla has amazing pick up, especially when I press the sport mode button. I have the option to turn my daytime running lights off manually.
Cons
Doesn't have enough interior compartments or a place to put my sunglasses. Because of the sport tires, my car doesn't handle very well and sways when going over a bridge with metal grates.
