We have driven Buick for about 12 years and this LaCrosse is the latest. We like the styling and while it may be sedate for some, it has a nice look without some of the cookie cutter styling on many newer cars. The handling is very good and really handles much spottier than it looks. The ride is smooth yet pretty crisp when you need it. The mileage is as good as most in her size range and gets over 30 mpg on the highway. The layout of the dash is quite good although the shift in the wheel stem took some getting used to. The 3800 CC engine is smooth and has a bit of a throaty sound when you push it. The interior is well appointed with plenty of room and all the bells and whistles like heated leather seats, Bose sound system and a straightforward dash without the annoying interfac... (more)
Story
The most memorable thing is the power train, we just traded a Buick with 189000 miles that had the generation 1 3800 CC engine for this gen 3 3800 engine, so far it is every bit as good if not better. Transmission is smooth.
Pros
Styling Comfort Economy Features, stereo, heated leather seats, all the bells and whistles. Simple controls, very straightforward Lots of room Remote start Will seat 6 if needed.
Cons
Front center seat is tight.

It was very spacious, it has a solid engine, and a great stereo system. The leather seats with power adjustment is great for long car trips. The black exterior made it stand out in the road. I also liked the shade of chrome on the rims.
Story
I did take a last minute road trip down to Orlando to hang out with a friend of mine. It was my first solo road trip, and the first time I drove over state lines on my own. I'm in my 20's and haven't had much time to go road tripping.
Pros
The 240-horsepower 3.6 liter V6 engine provided for power as well as 16-17 MPG city gas mileage. I commute in Atlanta daily, one of the worst cities for traffic, so this was great for saving me time and money getting back in forth. Although I like taking road trips, my busy schedule has kept me from doing so, so the Basic 48 months/50,000 miles warranty was a godsend.
Cons
The base model didn't have an MP3 decoder. It was 2008 when I purchased the vehicle, and then I had little use for CDs, using mostly my MP3 player for my music on the go. This is however a minor complaint, as the stereo system is solid with good speakers and steering wheel mounted audio control. There are cheap RF adaptors at Wal-Mart that will allow you to listen to MP3s using a special FM frequency.
