Santa Clarita, CA Driving Tips
Many people in this city do not pay attention when they are driving and often get into careless accidents. My biggest advice for driving in this city would be to always pay attention to the road and the people around you. I recommend that you are always extra alert and look out for people who seem to be distracted.
Santa Clarita, CA Buying Tips
If you want to buy a car in Santa Clarita, there is a very good string of auto dealerships on Creekside Road called Auto Nation. There, you will find every make and model of every car that you could possibly want - all in one convenient place.
Favorite driving memory
My favorite memory of driving in Santa Clarita was not very pleasant, but it was pretty funny. It occurred when I was first learning how to drive. My dad was afraid that I would crash into a parked car or hit a pedestrian, so he decided to take me to the parking lot of the local community college. I had never been behind the wheel of a car before, and didn't know that I needed to press the gas pedal slowly. I floored it - and ended up racing across the parking lot until I crashed into a dumpster. No one was hurt, and there was only a small scratch on the front of the car. My dad and I could not stop laughing! Ever since then, he has called me "lead foot" and is scared to get in the car when I'm driving.
Favorite road
San Francisquito Canyon Road. I really enjoy driving down San Francisquito because it is so calming and relaxing. It's a windy road with a beautiful canyon view in the background, and lots of animals along the way. Every time I drive down this road, I see horses, cows and other livestock, and it always brightens my day. This road is particularly breathtaking first thing in the morning when the sun is coming up. I have seen many beautiful sunrises on my morning commute to work.

Santa Clarita, CA Driving Tips
Mind the rush hour traffic, it's brutal. Much worse than when we first moved here. And be careful not to speed down those long stretches of road.
Santa Clarita, CA Buying Tips
The Miracle Mile of Cars in Valencia has every car lot from every brand in the world, best place to buy a car new or used. We have gotten 2 of our cars there.
Favorite driving memory
My husband and I had decided to move into the area, and we were looking around for model houses and new housing tracts. We were on the freeway passing through Santa Clarita, and we got off on the wrong offramp, and when we reached the street, we saw a sign advertising homes with a view. So we followed the signs, went up a hill, past established houses, further up, up, until we reached a hilltop with cleared land and no houses built, not even models. Just a trailer with the seller inside. The view was fantastic, the prices were reasonable. All the guy had was floor plans and artist renderings of the models. By the time we went out to look at lots, it was dark, so we drove up to the open lots and looked at them in the dark, with flashlights, and decided to put down a down payment for a house. We lived there for 21 years.
Favorite road
Sand Canyon. It is a rural area with really beautiful houses on big lots, and horse country. A really pretty drive, quite and secluded. And it eventually leads to our local nature park, which is beautiful and has a great nature center.
