Taking side streets rather than the main roads will give you a lead on traffic (especially on those busy weekends) and take you though inviting neighborhoods and unexpected landmarks.

My favorite memory of driving in this city isn't just one specific moment, it is every time I drive through Temecula Wine Country at sunset. Temecula is a generally warm city, and there is nothing I love more than to drive through the rolling hills in wine country with my windows down. During sunset hours, the sky turns into a painting-like mural of orange, red and pink which makes you want to stop for a picture to share with those you love.

Rancho California Rd.. The views make this my favorite road to drive. Heading east on the road once you are out of the city, the traffic clears and Rancho California leads you to the local wineries and orange groves of Temecula Valley. With vineyard views no matter the season, beautiful wineries lining the road and rustic yet elegant homes on the hilltops, this is the most scenic road to drive in Temecula.

If you take Rancho California out into wine country, please know how to drive on a roundabout, because when people don't know it can slow everyone down. We aren't all tourists, some of us have to actually commute.

There are quite a few car dealers by the I-15.

I live out in the Temecula wine country, about 20 minutes from the town of Temecula itself. Although it's sometimes inconvenient, it's a beautiful drive through the countryside with wineries, luxury homes, and horse farms along the way. On some mornings the sky is filled with hot air balloons rising up over the patchy fog.

De Portola Rd. Its a nice 55 MPH road that takes you from the southern side of town out to wine country. It goes through the Vale de los Caballos and is lined by nice horse farms.
