Torrance, CA Driving Tips
Make sure your air conditioning works well, especially in the summer. There are lots of stop lights and traffic.
Torrance, CA Buying Tips
Don't rush into a buying decision or be pressured by a pushy salesman. There are plenty of car lots that will want to work with you on mutually agreeable terms.

Torrance is a beach city in Southern California, adjacent to Redondo Beach, Wilmington, and the exclusive Palos Verdes communities. I am a photographer and I enjoy sight seeing and taking photos in and around Torrance Beach. It is far less populated than the other south bay beaches, Redondo, Hermosa, Manhattan and the cliff overhanging the access road to the beach makes for an interesting photographic subject. One time, in particular, I was looking for a spot to park, which can be challenging during the summer period around the 4th of July and I had driven back and forth along the coast and had become a little frustrated. I was able to find a spot just south and adjacent to the packed public parking lot. I began unpacking my photographic equipment and my passenger looked out the window and said "look at those small whales so close to the beach." I spotted them. They were actually a mother dolphin and her calf. It was a perfect photographic scene from many angles. I had found the perfect parking spot.

Hawthorne Blvd.. Everything is accessible via Hawthorne Blvd. The mall, restaurants, car lots, movie theaters, grocery stores. The street, near the 190th Street intersection, was actually shot in the movie Jackie Brown and has appeared in several others.

Torrance, CA Driving Tips
Keep up the good work! Part of the reason I like the city of Torrance so much is the good drivers - for work, I drive all over Los Angeles and Orange County. The good drivers of Torrance are a very nice change of pace! I would tell people to continue being safe, cautious drivers.
Torrance, CA Buying Tips
There are many dealerships in Torrance, mostly on Pacific Coast Highway and Hawthorne Blvd. I had good experiences with several of them, so I would recommend going to a dealership.
Favorite driving memory
I like driving in Torrance quite a lot - the drivers here are much, much better than drivers in other parts of Los Angeles! A few months ago, I saw a puppy stuck in the middle of the road (Hawthorne Blvd, to be exact). I was wondering what to do, and then I saw a woman in an SUV pull over. She put on her hazard lights and got out of the vehicle. People seemed to notice what she was doing, so she was able to go in the street and rescue the lost puppy without any danger. If I had not seen that happen, I would never believe it!
Favorite road
Crenshaw Blvd. I like driving on Crenshaw Blvd because of all of the restaurants that line it. Torrance has a large Japanese population, and Crenshaw Blvd makes it easy to get to all of the Japanese restaurants. It's also a very easy place to drive: there are left turn lights at every intersection, so you never have to worry about getting sideswiped as you turn left. It's a very safe road.
