I am on my second Optima, traded in a '12 for the '24 a few months back. Both are amazing cars and the '14 has all the bells and whistles. It has an advanced entertainment center that helps with many tasks and the amount of features packed into the car are amazing for the amount you can get them for. The Kia dealerships in South Florida will compete for your business so shop around!!
Story
It's great on road trips, time flies by and it's an amazingly smooth ride.
Pros
The Bluetooth connects super fast and plays music or a phone call perfectly. There is even a small hard drive in the radio to store a few cd's worth of music. The model I have comes with leather seats that are both heated and cooled. This is amazing living in Florida as the seats cool down in only a few seconds. There's a sunroof that opens 2 windows to give a huge viewing area. My favorite feature is the side mirrors; they open and close when you walk up with the key.
Cons
It's hard to find a negative about the car, I haven't had a single bad experience in 5 months of owning it. The one feature I'd like is remote starting capabilities on the push button models. They don't need a key inserted into the car so why can't it start my ac before I get to the car??

A 2005 Nissan Maxima is a full-sized sedan and can be intimidating for someone more used to compact coupes (like myself), but I have come to really enjoy this car. Anyone who has multiple passengers in the back seat, including a car seat, will appreciate the large back seat and with its V6 engine, it has a surprising amount of speed for a car its size. After 10 years, very little maintenance has been required outside the regular interval preventative maintenance and with the exception of one or two components it looks like a car 5 years younger. Accent and trim pieces have begun to show their age but the seats, interior, and paint still look fantastic.
Story
When moving into our new home, my wife and myself traveled to IKEA, a typical flat-pack furniture store and, with both front seats forward, managed to pack most of our house in this car. We had a coffee table between the two front seats and It wasn't a comfortable ride, but we managed.
Pros
Good quality build. Surprisingly fast and comfortable to drive. Not a car where you "feel the road" Has maintained its looks for 10 years.
Cons
Terrible turning radius that can make smaller parking lots and maneuvering a pain. Both (of two total) 9v cigarette lighter receptacles have gone out. Expensive to perform maintenance on. Parts and labor. Pretty poor gas mileage. Averaging 19-23mpg city and highway

I absolutely love my 1999 Nissan Maxima SE-R. I bought it used for a fairly cheap price with around 125,000 miles on it, but with a few quick tune ups it ran like a dream. I love how the Maxima seems to be always ready to take off from a standstill - it always seems to be ready to go at any moment. Exterior is beautiful - with a shiny grey paint, tinted windows, sport rims, and body kit & spoiler (default factory parts for SE-R model). I'm always hot (especially in the NY summers), and this A/C always blows hard and cold whenever needed. The interior is almost better than exterior. Black leather seats, wood grain all around the dashboard, and Bose speakers made this car bump. Gas mileage isn't the greatest - but most other features sort of make up for this. What else can you expec... (more)
Story
One time recently I drove out to Montauk, NY with all of the windows down and the skylight open the whole time. It was a beautiful, sunny summer day and I remember the Maxima driving as smoothly as can be out on the LIE onto Montauk Highway. Definitely one of my most memorable times with my Maxima.
Pros
-Sleek exterior with sport rims, tinted windows, body kit, and spoiler (the factory SE-R) -Power skylight -Plenty of horsepower -A/C blows hard and cold -Bose speakers -Leather seating and wood grain interior
