We purchased this car for my husband as an A to B car, so looks weren't the most important aspect. Desert life is hard on cars, and especially paint jobs, so cosmetically it has a few defects. However, it's a style that isn't overly dated, and all things considered, it's held up pretty well.
Story
We live in Las Vegas, so everything we do with this car is fun! Driving down the strip or down to Fremont Street in 'old Las Vegas,' or taking the dogs out to the canyons for a hike - we've had plenty of fun with this car.
Pros
Considering our purpose for the car, the best thing about it is that even after over 150k miles, it runs really well and has virtually no mechanical issues. What surprised me was its power. It really has great pick up and is pretty decent on fuel economy.
Cons
There are a few defects, but they're all pretty minor. The desert is really tough on cars, so we expected a few of these issues. For example, there are faded spots in the paint, and the front window was so encrusted with a haze of sand/dirt that it took a minimum of 7 different scrubbings for the windshield to be safe enough to drive with. Also, the dry air seems to have dried up the sealing around the driver's side window so it's no longer air-tight and the driver door has to be slammed really hard for it to close properly. The only other issue that is sometimes a concern is that afte... (more)

I have a 2004 Nissan Maxima. Overall it has been quite a durable vehicle with very few relative repairs. Upon first purchasing the car I love the luxurious feel of the interior for the price paid. I loved the passing power from the powerful V6 engine. And the style, in my opinion, is still better than a lot of the newer vehicles on the market. As the car has aged there have been certain issues that have popped up. I have had trouble with the front two calipers seizing resulting in a very costly repair. The durability of the paint could be better as I'm seeing considerable erosion on the hood and roof. The plastic cover over the headlights oxidizes easily. My factory radio works intermittently while the cd player is non functional. And there are issues with the car being a bit sluggis... (more)
Story
Who needs a bike rack when you have a Maxima. I once considered buying a bike rack to transport my road bike. Prior to doing so I tried to fit my bike in the car. Between the fold down seats and ample trunk room, I was surprised to be able to fit the entire bike in the trunk with the hood closed.
Pros
Great car for the money. Powerful V6 engine. Nice style.
Cons
Problems with seizure of calipers. Durability of paint can be better. Problems with factory radio and CD player. Has lost power with age. Accepts only premium fuel.
