2004 Nissan Maxima - Old reliable.
This is one of the few used cars I've had that hasn't broken down beyond repair. The layout of the parts under the hood make for an easy fix for a lot of issues. Some fixes, such as replacing spark plugs, are not as easy though due to having to move large parts to get to them, but other than that it is an easy car to work on. It's not the most fuel efficient car, but with some modification, a full tank of gas could last quite a while. The way it handles on the road is superb, and can handle bumps and dips with ease. The interior of the vehicle is smooth to the touch, as the seats are covered with leather and the rest of the interior is covered with smooth felt. It's not that technologically sophisticated, but the CD player and the tape player work great! The trunk makes for a great place to store speakers that can be used for the perfect sound system in the car. The car takes wear and tear with stride, and it will take a significant amount of miles before any part starts to wear down, making it a reliable car for road trips. And with ample room for a few friends in the back, those road trips won't be so lonely, either! Overall, this car has been a pleasure to drive, and I would definitely recommend it to other people
I've had fun teaching my brother how to drive in it at the local lake. He was able to get a handle on the car pretty quick, and it was the car he ended up using for his driver's test.

My favorite things about the vehicle were the sound system and the handling on the road.

Negative things about this car include the low fuel efficiency and dim headlights.

2004 Nissan Maxima - More power than expected
We purchased this car for my husband as an A to B car, so looks weren't the most important aspect. Desert life is hard on cars, and especially paint jobs, so cosmetically it has a few defects. However, it's a style that isn't overly dated, and all things considered, it's held up pretty well.

We live in Las Vegas, so everything we do with this car is fun! Driving down the strip or down to Fremont Street in 'old Las Vegas,' or taking the dogs out to the canyons for a hike - we've had plenty of fun with this car.

Considering our purpose for the car, the best thing about it is that even after over 150k miles, it runs really well and has virtually no mechanical issues. What surprised me was its power. It really has great pick up and is pretty decent on fuel economy.

There are a few defects, but they're all pretty minor. The desert is really tough on cars, so we expected a few of these issues. For example, there are faded spots in the paint, and the front window was so encrusted with a haze of sand/dirt that it took a minimum of 7 different scrubbings for the windshield to be safe enough to drive with. Also, the dry air seems to have dried up the sealing around the driver's side window so it's no longer air-tight and the driver door has to be slammed really hard for it to close properly. The only other issue that is sometimes a concern is that after it hasn't been driven for a few days, it sometimes needs a jump to start. But if it's being driven regularly, it never has a problem starting. Which doesn't make much sense, but it is how it is.
