I have a 600 foot gravel driveway with a steep hill and haul a lot of building material to my house for work on the property. For this I needed a heavy truck with enough power for the task. The Pathfinder has been the perfect vehicle for me. It allows me to do the work I enjoy to do on my property as well as having no problems on our hill in the snow in the winter time. This truck has performed perfectly under those conditions and has also been used to pull many cars out of ditches during winter snow and ice storms that are common in the Midwest. In addition, I have a lot of outdoor hobbies such as kayaking, hunting and fishing. This truck allows me to carry all my gear with room to spare and is used frequently for hauling a utility trailer. It easily performs all of these tasks... (more)
Story
My Pathfinder held a lot of campers during a big lightning storm at the Bonaroo music festival this year.
Pros
The Pathfinder climbs my steep gravel driveway daily without spinning a tire. Plenty of storage space for trips, kayaking, fishing and helping a friend move. Easily tows a trailer for landscaping and home improvement projects. Comfortably carries 5 people - and that is with the third row of seats down. Plenty of horsepower to accelerate when getting on a highway. Nice looks. Heavy enough to safely tow a heavy trailer down a steep gravel driveway. Easily spotted in a large parking lot. Passengers in the back seat can control their own heat or A/C.
Cons
Gas mileage of around 17 MPG. Had trouble with defective welds on exhaust manifolds when I first got it.

I purchased this vehicle as my primary transport for me and my family. The third row is a great plus with extra kids - friends and teammates. The interior is basic, but very comfortable. With small children, spilled juice easily wipes off the microfiber seats. And when the back is loaded with everything a large family needs for a day at the beach, the window hatch is convenient for quick access to add any last minute items needed for your trip. While I enjoy the body style and interior design, the quality of the mechanical build seems lacking. I bought my while used, but just as I approached the 100,000 mile mark, my tranny went out, along with my radiator. Thankfully my added warranty covered the bulk of the expense, since Nissan only covered a fraction of the issue this model is appa... (more)

I currently drive the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder SV and I feel that is was an okay buy for my family. We originally had the 2011 Nissan Juke and once our family expanded, we needed to upgrade to something larger. The Nissan Pathfinder comes equipped with seating for 7, and the 3rd row folds down to allow more space for hauling larger items. The car came with a few free months of satellite radio, which was great but I did not opt to keep the service after the free trial.
Story
I used this vehicle to travel to Tampa on a few occasions and it is always great to be comfortable in a larger vehicle while taking a road trip. It is great to see the scenery on the road and just let the seat back and relax while someone else drives.
Pros
My favorite feature about the Nissan Pathfinder is all of the cupholders! There has to be about 12 cup holders throughout this vehicle. This is a great feature because I have four children. They never have to fight over where to place their drinks. I also appreciate the climate control feature in the 2nd and 3rd rows. It allows the children to turn off the A/C in the back since they get cold easily. Also, the reverse camera is something I could not live without. I will never purchase another car without the reverse camera feature.
Cons
I feel that the middle console where the radio controls are is very boring and bland. Nothing special. The truck itself is just very boring, no special features that wow. Just a basic SUV to transport larger families. At least it is not a minivan.
