Outdoor Lifestyle
This car is great for an outdoor lifestyle or for a large family. I use mine to carry kayaks and bikes all the time. I also use it to carry up to 7 friends on these adventures. The engine is plenty powerful and having 4x4 is great. The interior has plenty of space and it can easily be comfortable for long drives. However, you will most likely get pretty bad gas mileage along the way. My biggest gripe with the car is certainly the MPG and limited range between fill ups.

Not a Bad Upgrade
My husband and I traded in our cars for a Pathfinder with a 3rd row. It had to happen to accommodate our kids! The third row is great, although it is difficult to get our oldest access to the backseat. The middle row does not easily move forward to gain access to the back, rather it folds one section at a time until it lays flat for the back passenger to crawl over. Our younger two kids are still in car seats, which makes this climb to back seat muster up so much effort that we now have our oldest climb through the back trunk space to get to her seat, as of two seats in the back fold down separately on an as needed basis. That has been a very useful perk. The trunk space is very minimal though, about the length of a paper grocery bag in width, so for trips, we need to plan on packing onto the roof rack securely. However, this truly is the nicest, and newest, car that we have ever owned, and I am glad to have it as an option. It is a perfect compromise to a car or van, and we plan on keeping it for at least a couple more years before it's resale value declines greatly.

Nissan Pathfinder, great despite issues
The 2008 Nissan Pathfinder has been a very dependable vehicle in spite of one manufacturer defect. The design of the transmission and the radiator led to the contamination of transmission fluid by radiator fluid. This required the transmission to be replaced. This defect was discovered after the manufacturers warranty had expired; however, Nissan realized it was a manufacturer's defect and replaced the transmission under warranty. Apart from that defect, the vehicle has run well and has been very dependable. It has approximately 150,000 miles and apart from normal routine maintenance. The vehicle has had no mechanical issues. There was one other issue which will be discussed under cons. The interior still looks fairly new as the carpets and upholstery has maintained its color and look. The paint is still vibrant, and there are no leaks from the engine.
