2004 Nissan Pathfinder Owner Ratings & Reviews

2004 Nissan Pathfinder - A great, reliable car
It is definitely affordable considering the year, its feature, and benefits. It's definitely reliable, and when parts have been needed to be replaced, I have been able to do so easily without having to pay an arm and a leg. I mean with any car maintenance is a big factor in the durability. But it's also nice to know that I won't be over paying for a car part. The aesthetic of the car is also pleasing to the eye. It has nice lines, and I like that it has a metal shell unlike most cars today that are plastic. For a 2004 it has four-wheel drive, rear wipers, towing capacity, and even a back-up camera. My husband is a bigger guy, and he feels really comfortable in the car and doesn't feel crammed. Now I think the worst part of the car is the gas mileage. It's definitely not as economic as ... Story
When we had our first child, we really couldn't afford to go anywhere fancy. We honestly would be exhausted. On date night, we would drive the car to a fast food place like Sonic and order food. The car is so spacious. We would be able to recline the seats and eat in peace while the baby was asleep in the car seat. We would watch the sun set, put our feet up and listen to music. It was just a ... (more)
Pros
Affordable and reliable. I love the sun roof, four-wheel drive and its towing capacity.
Cons
It's a gas guzzler.
2004 Nissan Pathfinder - Great small SUV
I love that it handles well. I'm really rough on vehicles. This one takes it with no problem at all. I love the sunroof and the fact that it feels really roomy. The backseats fold down completely flat, which creates a lot of extra space in the back. The fuel efficiency isn't too bad, either. I'm not sure of the exact numbers, but I can usually get about 280 miles (city and highway mixed) before my gas light comes on.
Story
I decided to take a back road home once. I didn't realize that the signs meant that the road wasn't paved, and I'd actually have to drive through a decent-sized creek. My other car (a BMW) wouldn't have made it, but this one got across with no problems at all!
Pros
I am in love with the sunroof and how roomy the vehicle feels. It is a smaller SUV, but doesn't feel like it at all once you get inside. The design is wonderful, and it takes the dirt just as well as the paved road. The ability to switch to two- or four-wheel drive is great, as I've had to use it when we've had crappy weather. Holds its own quite well!
Cons
My speakers died super fast. I only get sound out of the driver's side door speaker now. I won't be getting them replaced, but it sucks. Also, the car vibrates. I went to Pep Boys to get it checked out, and they said it was just a Pathfinder thing. So, once I hit about 65~70mph, the car vibrates and isn't a smooth ride at all.
