I got my Frontier as a work truck. Hauling wood chips, dirt and plants around in my family car was a hassle, so I looked for a truck, a hardworking truck that got decent miles per gallon. It more than meets my needs, and I would definitely buy another one when this one finally dies... Hopefully that's a long time off!
Story
I helped my elderly mother move in with me using this truck. We had many interesting experiences a la Beverly Hillbillies driving almost 250 miles with the truck loaded high but I never had any problems with it's carrying a heavy load.
Pros
I love my Frontier. I've had the truck for over 2 years and have never had a moment's worry even though it has over 229K miles on the engine. I feel like the truck is just getting warmed up! I knew I wanted THIS truck when I saw that it started up immediately though covered with snow in the dealership. I had my mechanic check out the vehicle, and it got a Grade A rating... Even with the high mileage. My Frontier gets about 27 miles per gallon on the highway, and even when it's loaded up, the gas mileage is not bad, considering it's a 4 cylinder manual transmission. This is one of the... (more)
Cons
The factory-installed radio/stereo system is fairly lousy. I've replaced the radio/stereo component and am getting ready to replace the speakers since they are failing fast. The interior is basic beige fabric. It shows dirt very easily, but washes well. I really liked the manual windows and the sliding back window because they mean that I won't have to worry about a window motor going bad.

This has been a great vehicle. I bought this truck three years ago for $6,500.00. When I purchased it it had 140k miles on it. The main reason I bought it was for work. I needed a good, dependable vehicle as I was going to be traveling about 125 miles a day. The main reason I chose a Nissan Frontier was I wanted something that was small but still had the ability to haul things if needed. I was not very concerned with a lot of bells and whistles but I was happy with what was offered. It has a CD player, cruise control, and power windows which was all I needed. One of my favorite things about the vehicle has been how easy it has been for me to work on. I had one major issue where I had to buy a new motor but it was my fault. I did not change the timing belt when I was supposed to but I f... (more)
Story
My kids really like it. When we go to a parade or watch fireworks they get to sit in the back and climb all over it.
Pros
Small - I like that because of the type of traffic I drive in. Still have the access to having a truck bed. Easy to work on.
Cons
Gas mileage. Small back seat.

In determining the vehicle to purchase, the key factors were long bed, reasonable height off the ground, reasonable price, and longevity. By choosing the 2013 Nissan Frontier SV kingcab truck, I was able to meet all of these goals. Since purchase, the truck has been thoroughly abused, racking up over 130k miles in just under 28 months. The vehicles primary use is moving moderate weight, large furniture such as massage chairs and recliners. Typical loads are 150-600 lbs, and frequently hang over the side of the truck bed or out the back. Car interior has held up stunningly well, and has been commented that it still looks new. Vehicle has been exclusively serviced by the dealer, which has cost more than expected, though the vehicle has never broken down, or had an issue while driving so ... (more)
Story
Thanks to monsoon weather I benefited more than once from this trucks reasonable height off the ground and was able to take an off-road path to avoid a road closure from a fallen tree or other debris.
Pros
Reasonable height off the ground for loading items into the truck bed. High MPG for a truck Reasonable purchase price 130k miles without any major issues and no issues while driving
Cons
Key fob has become unprogrammed twice, first time I was foolish to ask dealer to reprogram, and was charged $90 for this service. Found answer in the car booklet for a 5 minute fix the next time. MPG drops sharply when large loads are carried, sometimes down to 12 MPG Seats become uncomfortable on long trips of 200+ miles Higher off the ground with the SV package, unexpected "upgrade" by dealer for larger tires.
