I got my Frontier as a work truck. Hauling wood chips, dirt and plants around in my family car was a hassle, so I looked for a truck, a hardworking truck that got decent miles per gallon. It more than meets my needs, and I would definitely buy another one when this one finally dies... Hopefully that's a long time off!
Story
I helped my elderly mother move in with me using this truck. We had many interesting experiences a la Beverly Hillbillies driving almost 250 miles with the truck loaded high but I never had any problems with it's carrying a heavy load.
Pros
I love my Frontier. I've had the truck for over 2 years and have never had a moment's worry even though it has over 229K miles on the engine. I feel like the truck is just getting warmed up! I knew I wanted THIS truck when I saw that it started up immediately though covered with snow in the dealership. I had my mechanic check out the vehicle, and it got a Grade A rating... Even with the high mileage. My Frontier gets about 27 miles per gallon on the highway, and even when it's loaded up, the gas mileage is not bad, considering it's a 4 cylinder manual transmission. This is one of the... (more)
Cons
The factory-installed radio/stereo system is fairly lousy. I've replaced the radio/stereo component and am getting ready to replace the speakers since they are failing fast. The interior is basic beige fabric. It shows dirt very easily, but washes well. I really liked the manual windows and the sliding back window because they mean that I won't have to worry about a window motor going bad.

The Nissan Frontier is just okay as far as small trucks go. It's not a bad little truck but I don't think it as at the top of it's class either. It lags somewhat on steep hills. It also isn't very good at passing on the freeway. Overall it doesn't have very much horsepower. It's ok if you just need to haul some supplies like 2 X 4's for a small home improvement job. But I wouldn't use it to tow a boat or even jet skis. It gets average gas mileage and is good at getting you from point A to B. But if you want a work truck then this isn't it. This is good for everyday driving to and from work and the occasional hauling of light items, like moving a sofa. The ride is smooth and for the most part it handles well. It does lose some traction on the back wheels in the rain though. I guess this... (more)
Story
We used this vehicle for a trip to the lake with the kids. It held all of our fishing poles and coolers great!
Pros
Ok for getting to work and light hauling. Fun to drive gas mileage was ok
Cons
Not a lot of power the extended cab doesn't seem safe for passengers
