The 2002 Nissan Pathfinder SE is an outstanding SUV for the price. The vehicle includes many features that more expensive SUV's do not. The Pathfinder has a powerful engine that will not let you down while accelerating on the highway or when heading up to the mountains to ski. Nissan makes a very reliable vehicle, and the interior as well as body are all built to last.
Story
I had a lot of great ski trips to Lake Tahoe in the Pathfinder. Many of the trips have blended together. Driving in white out conditions was definitely exciting.
Pros
My favorite features of the Pathfinder are the body style and the heated and electric driver/front passenger seats. The sound system is above average and the 6 CD in dash changer was a big deal when it was brand new. Having said that, I really like the engine of the vehicle which, at 240 HP, is plenty of power for accelerating without hesitation while still getting decent miles per gallon. All of this is topped off by a price that was thousands less than similar vehicles from other manufacturers.
Cons
The Pathfinder is a bit noisy at higher speeds and it would be nice if there was a climate control vent for rear passengers. It would also be better if switching between 4WD and 2WD was more straightforward than a gear shifter and required only a button push.
