The Maxima is a well built vehicle in many aspects. It has nice suspension. The vehicles acceleration is good and I feel that the manual model is best. It is a car that can be worked on by its owner. On the other side of that which it is not many. When working on the car it is a bit taxing greater than the shop unless you have the right equipment. That being said the engine compartment is tight. When doing tune ups and basic maintenance some pieces are in back of the engine which makes it time consuming. The overall vehicle is a reliable car and the company.
Story
Everyday driving it.
Pros
The most favorite is that it can be a family vehicle during the week and turn into my toy on the weekend.
Cons
Not too many cons but a little pricy on fixing it if having to pat out of pocket.

This is an excellent workhorse car that I have owned for years. It has run consistently well over the last 18 years. There have been no (knock on wood) significant problems over the time period except loss of air conditioning. There are very few interior rattles, even though it has clocked over 180,000 miles. The electronics are dated but still useful. The undercarriage is pretty close to the ground, so it tends to bottom out more times than I prefer, but I have never had serious problems because of that. Fuel economy is pretty good. I think that I get about 18 miles per gallon. It consistently passes inspections in the state where I live (Texas). All this being said, I don't particularly take that good of a care of the car, especially considering the age, so I am particularly impresse... (more)
Story
This is a memorable story, even if it wasn't particularly enjoyable at the time. The car was still pretty new, maybe three or four years old. I took it to the auto shop to get new front tires. I bought a couple of front tires. It took an inordinately long time for them to put the tires on the car, possibly two hours. I took the car home, parked it, and went to bed. The next morning I got up to... (more)
Pros
Fuel economy, reliability, and interior space.
Cons
Color is grey so dirt shows. Uses an odd size tire, which is expensive. I don't like cars with chipped keys.
