We purchased our 2008 Ford Escape about four years ago with about 47,000 miles on it. We have absolutely loved it, and it recently hit 100,000 miles. It handles great in the snow and is the perfect size for our family. When we purchased it, we had a four year old and a newborn, both in car seats. The car seats both fit nicely, and the car is a great height, so it was easy for both us and our four year old to get in and out of. Now we have a eight year old and a four year old, and we still love it. We now have a high-backed booster and a front-facing convertible car seat, along with a small booster in the middle for when we drive car pool. I love the leather interior and leg room in that back seat. We have had a few mechanical problems, such as we lost a bearing and the ignition ... (more)
Story
Last summer we took our family camping to the San Rafael Swell in Utah and had a blast adventuring and off-roading to our campsite. It handled well, and we were able to see things we wouldn't have otherwise.
Pros
The size of this vehicle is perfect for our family of four. It is small enough, so it is easy to park and maneuver in traffic. It gets pretty good gas mileage. Yet it is still big enough to handle car seats, outdoor gear, and even some off roading. My husband and I are both tall, six-three and six-even, and we are both very comfortable in our Escape, both in driving and sitting in the passenger seat. We love the interior, especially the leather seats. It makes clean up so easy when the kids spill chocolate milk, ketchup, or even throw up on the seats. The sound system is great. We lo... (more)
Cons
The most common thing I've thought I'd like to be different is that the cargo space was slightly larger, in particular slightly deeper. We've had very little not fit, but we often keep things and outdoor gear and toys in the back of the car for daily use, and there isn't much space left after that some days. For day to day, it is typically not a big deal, but on the occasional road trip where we need a bit more gear, it has gotten tight. While I love the leather interior, I dislike that the middle console is glossy black. It shows every speck of dirt, crumbs, and dust. Even when we cl... (more)

I have mixed feelings about the Ford escape. Overall, I like the features of the car and the size. I have two teenage boys who play hockey. One is a goalie with large equipment and the other a forward. All the equipment fits nicely in the car. It does block my rear sight, but the SUV is equipped with a rear-view camera when reversing. I use this camera every time I reverse, because it gives me a full view of things I wouldn’t normally be able to see when using the window. This SUV also has heated seats, Bluetooth, leather seats and a sunroof. I like the feel of the car. It drives smoothly, and I sit high enough to see over or through most vehicles, which I prefer, but the SUV isn’t so big that I find it hard to park or I feel like I’m driving a semi-truck. I have mixed feelings, beca... (more)
Story
I have taken this SUV on two road trips. One to Myrtle Beach and the other to New Orleans. I have a friend who has a fear of driving on bridges that are over water. In order to help her combat this fear, we drove over the longest bridge over water in the United States. This bridge was the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway in southern Louisiana, which is roughly 23 miles long. The view was beautiful... (more)
Pros
The car is attractive. It has the bells and whistles of modern cars, such as rear-view camera, heated seats, sunroof, aux, and Bluetooth. It also drives smoothly, and the build is a great size that fits most of our needs comfortably. This model also is a flex-fuel vehicle which takes E-85 gas. E-85 gas is significantly cheaper at most gas stations.
Cons
Recently experiencing problems with rear-gate latch and wiring that seems to be a common theme in many Ford Escapes.

Brighton Ford had been serving the Brighton Community for as long as I have lived in Colorado and that is over 20 years. You do not survive in a small town like Brighton unless you have a quality reputation and that is true of Brighton Ford. I brought my firs car from them when I lived in Brighton and even though I have moved over 20 miles away I still go there to buy my cars. The staff and repair department are honest and concerned about quality. I would recommend them to any car buyer. It is worth the drive.

More than anything, I was pleased that I could browse without being bothered and sold to without begin sold at. I told the dealer what I wanted, and he showed me exactly that. He didn't oversell, but he didn't abandon me. He was kind, and he talked to my son like he was somebody. He even drove around with me in the car and went my house with me to pick up my wife. It really felt like what customer service ought to be.
