This is one of the better Jeeps that I have owned, and I am on my fourth Jeep. One of the things I really like about this Jeep is the body style. It's futuristic looking and has a lot of smooth curves that make it stand out against other cars. The engine is four-cylinder, so if you're used to a V6 or V8, it does take a little time to get use to, but the slight loss of power is a great trade off for the amazing gas mileage that you get with this car. Like all Jeeps, it rides a little bumpy, but it's far less bumpier than a Wrangler.
Story
I took this car to Colorado with me and my two dogs. We slept in it along the way and then went hiking at Garden of the Gods. We had a blast with the girls in the backseat sticking their heads out the windows and taking pictures along the way.
Pros
The Renegade is super comfortable. It easily sits five people or two humans and two dogs. The back seat can be thrown down (like all Jeeps) to give you more cargo space. I love having cargo space underneath the back floorboard. It's nice to hide stuff if needed. I have two dogs, and they can easily fit in the back seat, or if I want to give them more room, I put the back seat down, toss their beds in the back and they can stretch out. There's plenty of little nooks to tie off their harnesses too so they stay safe and secured while I drive. The gas mileage is amazing for a Jeep. I only have... (more)
Cons
The Jeep costs less than other models, and that's reflected in the plastic used on the panels and trim. I've had to take it back to the dealer twice in the two years I've owned it in order to get trim replaced that either broke or came unhinged. However, it was covered under warranty, so it didn't cost me anything. Because it does have a four-cylinder engine, you don't have the get up and go that you're used to with a V6 or a V8 so take that into account when trying to gun it on an on-ramp.

I read about the Renegade for months before they came out in 2015. When they finally did, I went to my local dealership and told them I wanted it fully loaded and orange. I was then informed that you could not order them you had to find my specs coming off the boat. They did a good job tracking it down. It just took 6+ months to finally track one down, and I had to pay for them to go pick it up. My first opinion was great, small compact easy on gas, had most of the features I wanted. It wasn't until 15-18k miles in where stuff started to fall apart. I had it in the shop for probably 3 months+ which initially started with rough idle at stop lights (in drive but not moving) as soon as I push the peddle it stopped. The dealership reported it as "by design" but replaced my "computer mo... (more)
Story
Brought my new born daughter home in it, which had plenty of tie downs for the various kinds of car seats. It also had enough room to sit behind my seat facing backwards.
Pros
Built-in nav/back-up camera. Fog lights turn on in the direction you turn. Lane departure warnings when on-coming traffic approach. Good amount of space for its size. Keyless entry. Orange color + decals. Towing package.
Cons
Rough idle. Pick-up is poor when A/C is running. No HomeLink . No CD player. No Android auto support.
