I have had this car for almost 2 years and it has yet to let me down. While people usually talk down about Kia vehicles I am truly impressed. This car has taken me back and forth on many road trips across the country. It has transported good friends and enabled great experiences on the road. I looked at quite a few cars before test driving and buying this one. Oddly enough I feel like I really connected with this one. It was reminiscent of the feeling of buying my first car, true freedom.
Story
I remember finding an amazing deal on a large TV on Craigslist. When I showed up it was such a pain moving the TV but it fit perfectly in the backseat flat. Driving back to Nevada from California is an ordeal as anyone driving 80 would understand. Of course I had my two dogs with me who thought it would be fun to lay on but we made it back safely.
Pros
My favorite part besides the Bluetooth hands free calling has to be the hatchback. I have found sedans usually waste a lot of space and do not allow you room to transport much in the way of cargo. With the hatchback I was able to fit a 55" TV in the back flat and transport it with my two dogs 3 hours back home. Another awesome thing about this car is how fast it picks up speed. I am unsure what type of engine it is but I know when I first test drove it I could not stop smiling. The only sufficient word I could come up with is zippy. It really is the epitome of the word. One last impression... (more)
Cons
The only thing I do not like about my specific vehicle is there is no inboard navigation and to get it input is a real hassle for this model unfortunately. I also wish I picked a different color, the silver is not very attractive looking.

The car's ability to be consistent on fuel cost is good. I averaged about 30 mpg and was fine with unleaded fuel. The car is much less expensive to maintain, filters, oil changes, fluid replacement was all $10-50 at any given time. I did like that portion of the car. The issue I had is the car is cheap, it has issues with performance, the car barely can stay on the road when wind or weather is an issue. The car sits really low and is not comfortable for much of the ride. Overall quality of the car interior is poor, the plastic dashboard falls apart pretty easily, the door handles break off, the drink holders melt.
Story
Me and my wife would drive back and forth between Vegas and Phoenix, the car handled the fun curves in the mountainside roads.
Pros
Fuel efficiency was great, I always was able to get 30 MPG or higher. The inexpensive maintenance of the car makes it attractive as a first car. The car offers radio control on the steering wheel so you never have to take your hands or eyes off the road. I really enjoy the red background at night, it's much easier on the eyes and unlike white or blue doesn't leave me with blurry vision while driving.
Cons
The car tends to have a lot of issues with performance. The TPMS system is constantly breaking, this car has been recalled by KIA half a dozen times in two years for bad air bags, bad TPMS, poor performance or safety issues. The quality on the interior is poor, it's plastic and it melts and gets dirty extremely easy.
