Toyota Yaris Owner Ratings & Reviews

2007 Toyota Yaris - It's a car I can depend on.
I like how the Toyota Yaris is an affordable car especially for college students starting off in their college career. It is cost efficient especially with gas. As a college student, I don't have much money on a monthly basis, so getting around town and now having to worry about always putting gas in my car is a star in my book. The thing I dislike about the vehicle is that there have been numerous times when Toyota had contacted me about a recall part in my car. I understand they are trying to do their job to ensure safety, but sometimes I worry if they should have completely fixed everything in the car on the first try instead of always recalling it back.
Story
When I first went to the dealership with my family to buy a new car, our original choice was to get the smaller Yaris model since it would be my first car, but they ran out of the model and had only sedan models available. After showing me the different color cars available, I was glad there was a different color available other than white, black, and silver. I wanted a color that would be unc... (more)
Pros
One thing I really like about those vehicle is the compact size that makes it easy to park and drive around when there are situations when the road is restricting. Although even though it is a compact car, it is spacious enough in the inside to pack two or three standard size travelling luggage in the back seat. I was surprised to see how big the trunk is as well. My sister is a cellist and putting cello in the trunk was no worry at all. It is a snug fit that there is no need to put any back seats down to create more space.
Cons
One of the cons of this car is that it doesn't do well in rain. Driving it in wet weather is a little scary when it comes to steering or turning corners. If you go above 30 mph the car swerves if you aren't carefully enough.
2012 Toyota Yaris - A much larger car than it appears to be.
My wife and I were in kind of a pinch when we bought this car, and I'm glad that we did. I really like this car. I'm a pretty large man, and it doesn't feel small inside; in the front seat or in the back seat. The trunk is even somewhat roomy.
Story
Once I picked up a hitchiker while driving to a friends house. She wondered if it was a Mustang.
Pros
There is a long list of thing that I like about this car, but I'll try to keep it to a few major points. First off, it feels faster than it should. The tiny 1.5L engine is surprisingly powerful, although no muscle car engine. In many smaller cars they are geared so that the transmission shifts at low RPMs, but this car lets you wind it out a bit. I'm not going to give driving advice, but it doesn't redline until 6500 RPM, although don't expect to achieve the rated 40mpg driving like that. On the model that I have the dials and displays are in the center of the dash, not behind the steering... (more)
Cons
There are very few things I can even think of that are negative. It does have some pretty big blind spots in the corners. The AUX jack for the stereo is located in a storage compartment on the right of the center console, making it awkward to plug in an AUX cable so I can use my phone to play music.
