I got this car to replace a 2009 Toyota Corolla that was totaled. I've only ever had Corollas before, and have always felt safe in them. By comparison the Mazda3 feels lighter and less solidly built, which makes me wonder how well it would hold up in an accident. But it is enjoyable to drive and seems reliable so far.
Pros
My favorite thing about the Mazda3 is definitely how quickly it accelerates and how easy it is to steer. I have no problem making a U-turn in a tight space, and I almost never feel a drag when accelerating onto a freeway, for example. It's relatively compact for a sedan, which makes it easier to park, but I still feel like it has enough storage space for my needs. It has space for one CD and an AUX cord outlet.
Cons
The downside of having a lighter, smaller car is that I don't feel quite as safe in it as I did in a Corolla. However, I have read good reviews about it, and I trust Mazda as a brand. There is less leg room, particularly in the back seat. One minor quip is that the low-gas light is awkwardly positioned, in such a way that I sometimes don't see when the light comes on as it is hidden behind the steering wheel. I also wish it had Bluetooth capabilities.

My Mazda 3 has served me reliably for 12 years. It rarely gives me problems, has a smooth ride and gets excellent gas mileage. I have driven it back and forth between Orange County and the High Desert (Tehachapi/Bakersfield), approximately 400 miles round trip, innumerable times and I have always felt safe in the knowledge it would get me where I needed to go. While it may not be the fanciest or most prestigious vehicle, it is very comfortable and has more than enough room for me and three other passengers. The trunk provides ample storage space for trips to the grocery store, luggage or whatever I happen to be lugging around at the time. Additionally, maintenance is fairly easy. In 12 years, I have had to replace my brakes only a few times and had to buy new tires three times. ... (more)
Story
When my elderly mother was beginning to have difficulty getting around, this car was actually very easy for her to get into and out of.
Pros
Affordable, reliable, cute.
Cons
Changing the third brake light is a pain.

so i took up my old NISSAN super saloon to them because i wanted to trade it to a brand new car, i remembered Tami Lyn being a big help to us and gave is a pretty nice deal with out old car and just add more funds to get a brand new car. for a Mazda speed 3 2008 model 15k is a nice price that comes along with a warranty and months of free service free, Tami Lyn wanted to get out trust so he showed us around and took us to the office and let us review the car, having to see the car is a nice view but actually touching it and knowing that it is free from any mechanical failure is a BIG Yes for my family. and there's more the papers was done stressed free now that's a plus.

The salesman was not pushy. The selection of cars they had was quite extensive.
