Jetta: great utilitarian vehicle.
I stumbled upon a Jetta by chance when looking for a mid-size vehicle to lease. Visually, the Volkswagen Jetta is a nice looking car seemingly more expensive than it really is. The interior is comfortable and there are many different options for interior upgrades that won't cause you to break the bank. I live in a large urban area and the Jetta is perfect for getting around town. My driveway is very narrow and the Jetta fits perfectly. I can easily park my Jetta in public spaces where most larger cars couldn't fit. It runs so quietly I nearly feel like I'm in a hybrid. Gas mileage city and highway are comparable. No great savings but solid non the less. It currently costs about 28 dollars to fill the gas tank and I run the car in the city for the full week at that amount. Highway driving is great with the Jetta. It's quiet and the steering adheres well to the road. There are no vibrations in highway driving that you might feel in other mid-sized vehicles. It fits four people very comfortably. I'm a sold Jetta consumer and don't for the immediate future foresee trying any other vehicle.

1990 VW Jetta
I purchased this 1990 VW Jetta in 1997 and paid cash. I owned the vehicle for ten years before selling it. During the time of ownership I would have to say the car was dependable and more than worth the price I paid. Pros: It was a four door sedan that had plenty of room. There was plenty of trunk space as well and served as a great road trip car. It had sufficient power especially in passing speeds. The suspension was I would say sporty and had a nimble feel. Cons: Oil leaks. The car leaked from time to time. Not just oil, it also leaked coolant many times as the hoses needed replacement from time to time. The bulky design of the car wasn't really a con but I wasn't too satisfied with that. Overall though the car definitely served a great purpose as my first vehicle and got me where I needed to be. It was sufficient and fairly decent on the gas mileage. I had many great memories with it, but I would have to say I would probably never buy this vehicle ever again.

They were the cheapest dealer I could find that had a car that I could afford at the time.

There wasn't anything particularly great about it. The salesman was very helpful, though.
