My Prius is a bit of a let down for me. When looking for my first car I did all of this research and was told that Honda and Toyota were the best places to go because their cars were low maintenance. I love the design of the car. I love the gas mileage. What I don't like is the cost of maintenance I have had. Because the technology of cars is advancing so quickly, it seems that the cost for simple replacement items is astronomical. I had to spend $600 to replace a whole part in the car when all that was broken was the valve on the piece, but oh no, Toyota doesn't sell just the valve. What?! The computer system also stopped working, but I was told by the guy at the dealership that replacing it would be at least $1000 to replace because, of course, it is technically a computer. I am not ... (more)
Story
When I was driving out to LA for the first time I was driving in the mountains for a long time. Suddenly, since the battery is so small on these guys, my car was running low and suddenly was slowing way down despite the pedal being to the metal. Just when panic set in, the mountain turned downhill and the battery got all charged up again. She definitely is a prim lady of a car, not meant for r... (more)
Pros
I love the design and style of the car. I love the hatchback. It is spacious. I love the gas mileage.
Cons
The cost of routine maintenance and for unforeseen repairs are far too high, especially when going to a dealership. The fuel gauge is way more inaccurate than on other vehicles, half the tank is gone before it goes down one dot, probably because they want you to think "wow I can drive so far and my tank is still full!" But the rest of the dots disappear quickly. Also, I had to replace my battery twice, and once again, prices don't go cheap for this "old new technology." The battery cost about $200 each time.

I bought the car used and was really impressed with it and how it handles. It only had 30,000 miles on it, but was in fantastic condition. Obviously, Prius' are hybrids, and therefore the gas mileage is phenomenal; I live in Los Angeles and with how much gas costs, it's amazing that I can fill my tank for about $35 and it lasts about 350 miles. That means I fill it up 3 times a month, max. I have always thought that the style was cute; it has a sporty feel. Having a hatchback means that I can fit lots of things in the trunk, including finds from flea markets like awkward shaped mirrors and dressers. The seats are super easy to move down and back up, I can do it in 10 seconds or less. The battery strength is great. I once left my headlights on for an entire week, and my car turned on ... (more)
Story
I went to a city near mine for a movie shoot. I got off early and had extra time and poked around a Goodwill. Lo and behold, I found a huge antique dresser I wanted. I didn't think it would fit, but it did and it didn't weigh my car down at all. It was perfect and I realized then my Prius could take on anything.
Pros
- The size of the body. I love 4 door sedans, and I feel safer in this car knowing that the frame is big enough and sturdy enough to protect me in a crash. - The gas mileage. I drive maybe 50 miles a day on average, and sit in traffic maybe 2 hours a day
Cons
-Other people drive very aggressively with Prius drivers in Los Angeles. Because so many people drive them, they have a reputation for being bad and inconsiderate drivers. This means that when I'm on the road, people are more likely to cut me off and not

There is always a fresh, hot cup of coffee waiting when I have a morning appointment here. The cordiality and kindness these guys always have is incredible, especially since they have to deal with a ton of aggravated people all day. The service is wonderful and they are very practical, the rates for tire replacements and minor adjustments are not inflated like the majority of other Hollywood dealerships. I have bought two cars from this lot, and they never disappoint with what they provide every time.
