This car has been so reliable. It has been driven by quite a few people in our family and it fits every driving style. It is a perfect mid-sized vehicle for a family. In the ten years that we've owned it, we've only ever had to do standard maintenance on it. The only recalls were fairly superficial and very easily taken care of. The best part for me is that the back seat is perfect for a car seat. We have a large convertible car seat in the middle and two adults can sit on either side comfortably with the car seat in place. This is perfect for my family.
Story
When my in-laws visited us from South Africa, they wanted to do tourist-things around Southern California which meant mostly things in LA. We live about an hour from LA without traffic which means that we live about 2 hours from LA on most days. My in-laws, my 4 month old daughter, my husband and I all piled into the Highlander to drive to Griffith Park and see the Hollywood sign and the obser... (more)
Pros
This vehicle is so reliable and only requires the standard regular maintenance. There has never been a big issue with it so far. The interior space is large for both passengers and storage. Features that make car seat installation easy: anchor and seat hooks.
Cons
The only thing I don't like about the Highlander is the turn radius. It is non existent. Even making a U-Turn on a normal street is almost impossible.

I think that this car is absolutely the best fit for me because it gives me the right amount of space without being a huge SUV or a gas guzzler. There are so many times when my friends and I want to load up the car and go for a trip. I am lucky enough to be the owner of a car that has the ability to do this. My Highlander has great steering range and the ability to be a smooth ride regardless if I am on the freeway or on a dirt road.
Story
I drove my Highlander from Los Angeles up to Yosemite National Park and other parks around that area. I felt completely safe and in control of my car during this drive. Especially considering the length of that drive, I think my passengers and I were very comfortable. The car was able to get good gas mileage.
Pros
The best parts about this car is that it can hold up to eight people and not feel over sized. I like the number of outlets and ports that can be used to charge accessories. Bluetooth was a must for me in my new car, and the back up camera is also a great accessory. I really like that it is just the camera without all of the extra lines and noises that get in the way.
Cons
A big dislike about this car is how the middle seat in the second row has to be fully removed to change it into a cup holder and vice versa, I would like it much better if simply just folded down. Another issue that I had was more than once I have pulled off the trim because it was stuck on the grass of the side walk. I do not think that this should be able to be pulled off this easily.

They were very kind and walked me through it step by step. I was able to test drive a car of my choice and they had many models for me to look at. I did not feel rushed and they let me go at my own pace, even letting me go home to think about it at first. They even matched prices from other dealerships.

The dealers helped me to find a good deal on a reliable car. They were not pushy and I felt that I was buying a car on my own terms. They also gave me test drive and the salesman was very nice. They offered free donuts and coffee to my wife while she waited and made her feel very comfortable about the whole process.
