This care has been well used and loved. When I decided to buy this car, I knew exactly what I wanted, although I would have been happier at the time with a 2007 as that was the last year it was manufactured. I waited until I found a Mariner, and drove further than if I had been willing to settle for a different brand. I bought the car without a test drive, and as it turns out, it has been reliable with the exception of once, after about 8 years of owning it, the battery suddenly and without prior notice, died. Of course, that was a five year battery, so can't really blame the car! Never a problem with starting or stalling. Have driven every day for 10 years with no problems. There are currently 120,000 miles on the engine and the car is just starting to have some rattles and I'm thinking about trading it in, but hate to see her go and just keep putting off trading her in. I love the body, the functionality, and the ease with which it handles.

I feel safe driving this car.
I am very happy with my purchase. I had never owned a Mercury before and had very little knowledge of its history as a whole. I bought the car pre-owned, and the mileage was great and the price as well. It is an SUV, which I really like because I am short and can't see over other cars and trucks. I feel safer in an SUV. The car has performed quite well with regular maintenance. The cost of oil changes and brakes are not expensive with this particular make and model. The interior carpet on the flooring is still clean and holds up quite well. The only negative experience is the vinyl panel on the rear passenger side fell away from the door. It was an easy fix with a good adhesive that has not fallen off again to date. The tires on the vehicle are not oddly sized or expensive depending on the what brand I will purchase when I need them. The value for the money that I paid for the car was a great deal. Considering the low mileage and great condition, I feel that my purchase was a good one. I would probably not turn away from purchasing another Mercury Mariner in the future should I need a new car. I am happy with my Merc!
