There is not much I don't like about this vehicle. I have almost 80K miles on my 2007, and have really only ever needed brakes fixed, and oil changes. The interior still looks fantastic, and after all these years I still get excited to drive my car. There is a factory installed 6 disc CD changer, and it still works perfectly. My power windows and locks also work perfectly, as well as my moon roof controls, keypad entry, and front and rear wipers. I have never even had to recharge my air conditioning!
Story
I went to visit my brother at the Ohio State campus, and this car was awesome for getting us to the game and around campus. It is small enough to fit most places, and sturdy enough to handle college football tailgates!
Pros
Being a single Mom, the reliability of this car is my number one favorite thing. I don't have the money to maintain this vehicle the way I should, and I never have any problems with it. It still rides like a new vehicle, and my kids can sleep in the back without bumps waking them at all. I still love my silver paint, and my black leather interior like the first day I drove the car off the lot. It gets relatively good gas mileage for a 6 cylinder, and even in stop and go traffic I never worry about blowing through a tank of gas. I love the style of my car, just overall the way it looks. Cons
The only complaint I have about the vehicle is it is starting to rust around my wheel wells, and bottom of my doors. One of the wheel wells is already rusting up the side, and the doors will more than likely blow out in the winter. There is also trouble with the ABS braking system on these vehicles, and mine has always been an issue. Luckily, although the issue exists, you can still drive the vehicle without 'having' to get it fixed. Also trying to find some parts is hard, such as a rear wiper.

2007 Mercury Mariner - Mercury Mariner was a good choice.

I have had this vehicle for eleven years now, and I haven't had any major issues with it. I have driven over 50,000 miles. I had to drive on the freeway 90 miles both ways to visit family, so I appreciated the dependability. It has a smooth ride and good pick up. The interior is still in excellent condition. No rips tears or wears. The paint is still in pristine condition. It is a good car for a family of 4 or 5, but it's also good for individuals and couples. The size is just right, not overpowering. One of my favorite parts is the cover that pulls out in the back over the area, so people can't see what you have stored there.
Story
We were moving 90 miles away, and we never thought we'd fit everything that still needed to be moved into the vehicle. To our surprise, we could not only fit it, but we were able to see at all angles.
Pros
I liked the feature where the back seats fold down. I like the sleek look of the interior. The options of a luggage rack and side runners were appreciated. The stereo system sound is good. The back area is roomy, so it came in handy with moves, etc. I prefer a bright color car on the highway, and the red was a pleasing color, especially with the tan interior. If there was any type issue, for example, low tire pressure, I would immediately be informed via an electronic warning system. It was always accurate, unlike other vehicles I have had.
Cons
One con would be that sometimes when I'd look through the side view mirror, I had to really be careful because an object/person/approaching car wasn't readily visible. I wish that it had a camera so that I could have a better view.
