There is not much I don't like about this vehicle. I have almost 80K miles on my 2007, and have really only ever needed brakes fixed, and oil changes. The interior still looks fantastic, and after all these years I still get excited to drive my car. There is a factory installed 6 disc CD changer, and it still works perfectly. My power windows and locks also work perfectly, as well as my moon roof controls, keypad entry, and front and rear wipers. I have never even had to recharge my air conditioning!
Story
I went to visit my brother at the Ohio State campus, and this car was awesome for getting us to the game and around campus. It is small enough to fit most places, and sturdy enough to handle college football tailgates!
Pros
Being a single Mom, the reliability of this car is my number one favorite thing. I don't have the money to maintain this vehicle the way I should, and I never have any problems with it. It still rides like a new vehicle, and my kids can sleep in the back without bumps waking them at all. I still love my silver paint, and my black leather interior like the first day I drove the car off the lot. It gets relatively good gas mileage for a 6 cylinder, and even in stop and go traffic I never worry about blowing through a tank of gas. I love the style of my car, just overall the way it looks. Cons
The only complaint I have about the vehicle is it is starting to rust around my wheel wells, and bottom of my doors. One of the wheel wells is already rusting up the side, and the doors will more than likely blow out in the winter. There is also trouble with the ABS braking system on these vehicles, and mine has always been an issue. Luckily, although the issue exists, you can still drive the vehicle without 'having' to get it fixed. Also trying to find some parts is hard, such as a rear wiper.

The 2007 Mercury Mariner has been a great vehicle. It is well built, in that it has no rattles nor has any trim (interior or exterior) shaken loose over time. The door latches and sills are tight. I have had only the usual maintenance done EG: services and brakes. Even the tires lasted 71,000 miles before needing to be changed. The steering and brake pedal are tight when turned or pushed, but in a good way. I would recommend this vehicle to anybody.
Story
It handles very well in the snow. I tried to go out car sliding in the snow with some friends, but every time, it would start to slide and spin the 4-wheel drive would lock in to prevent just this type of thing. My friends thought it was hilarious.
Pros
Great heater and A/C. Engine has a lot of power. Heated seats work very well. Seats are comfortable. Easy to drive, handles well on curvy roads as well as straight. Auto 4-wheel drive works good in snow. Plenty of leg room. Rear heating ducts and radio controls are great.
Cons
The only 2 problems I have had are: Road noise seems a little loud at times. The rear window shocks wore out quickly.
