We bought our Mercury Mariner brand new in 2007. It is now 14 years old, but it certainly doesn't look it. The interior has no tears or discoloration. It has held up remarkably well. I'm happy to say that in all these years, the only thing we've had done to the car is basic maintenance, oil changes, etc. So many people I know have electrical problems, etc. with other car models, but we haven't had any. I particularly like the size of this SUV. It's small enough to easily handle, but it's large enough to get any job done. For example, I bought a coffee table at a furniture store. I was able to save the delivery charge because with the seats down the table fit perfectly. We just have a CD player in the car and it still works great. Of course, we can also attach our phones and listen to S... (more)
Story
We drove this car to our favorite beach. We were able to set up pillows, etc. in the back once the seats were folded down and we watched the sunset. Great memory.
Pros
This might seem minor, but one of my favorite features is in the trunk area. There is a 'hidden compartment' where we have been able to hide valuables when we're on a trip. I also like the headrest and where it hits me when I drive. It's very comfortable.
Cons
I'd say my least favorite thing is the say the seatbelt lays across my body. I always have to pull it down so it doesn't feel like it's choking me. I also notice a blind spot in the right rear. I am used to it, but I'd prefer it not be there.

2007 Mercury Mariner - Love it! Wish they still made them!

There is not much I don't like about this vehicle. I have almost 80K miles on my 2007, and have really only ever needed brakes fixed, and oil changes. The interior still looks fantastic, and after all these years I still get excited to drive my car. There is a factory installed 6 disc CD changer, and it still works perfectly. My power windows and locks also work perfectly, as well as my moon roof controls, keypad entry, and front and rear wipers. I have never even had to recharge my air conditioning!
Story
I went to visit my brother at the Ohio State campus, and this car was awesome for getting us to the game and around campus. It is small enough to fit most places, and sturdy enough to handle college football tailgates!
Pros
Being a single Mom, the reliability of this car is my number one favorite thing. I don't have the money to maintain this vehicle the way I should, and I never have any problems with it. It still rides like a new vehicle, and my kids can sleep in the back without bumps waking them at all. I still love my silver paint, and my black leather interior like the first day I drove the car off the lot. It gets relatively good gas mileage for a 6 cylinder, and even in stop and go traffic I never worry about blowing through a tank of gas. I love the style of my car, just overall the way it looks. Cons
The only complaint I have about the vehicle is it is starting to rust around my wheel wells, and bottom of my doors. One of the wheel wells is already rusting up the side, and the doors will more than likely blow out in the winter. There is also trouble with the ABS braking system on these vehicles, and mine has always been an issue. Luckily, although the issue exists, you can still drive the vehicle without 'having' to get it fixed. Also trying to find some parts is hard, such as a rear wiper.
