I've had this car for 17 years now. It gets normal city use and the occasional road trip. I have NEVER had a single problem with this car beyond normal wear and tear. I have a bad habit of not maintaining cars the way they should be - I have run this car a number of times on almost no oil and the engine still runs very well. It has never broken down. The worst that has happened is the battery ran down and I had to get a tow to get the car to the auto shop. It's a small car, but that often means I can get into places the larger cars can't.
Title
Well, it got iced in a couple of years ago, but that's because our driveway floods and after one particular flood we had a cold front that froze the car in place. That's less about the car though. I have driven this car on dirt farm roads where my husband thought we would get stuck.
Pros
This car has held up to my flaky maintenance with no problems at all. It also is nice and speedy when I want it to be. In the 17 years I've had it, the only things that needed fixing were gaskets, tires, battery, alternator, AC, and radio. I think I may have needed to get the catalytic converter fixed at one point, but I think that is also a normal wear & tear issue.
Cons
There's one electrical connection that is failing that controls speedometer, odometer and miles traveled. These displays don't work more often than they do work, and my auto guy was unable to find a replacement for the failing connection. This started about the 12th year of my ownership. Also, the radio failed pretty early on, but it was easily replaced.

I love driving this car! It is smaller and not a 'luxury vehicle', but its economy is amazing. When we bought it, the dealer advertised it as "44 mpg Highway" - but we regularly get 50 mpg highway driving. It has a smaller gas tank but it costs less than $20 to fill him up at current gas prices. The suspension is good but you do feel a lot a bumps - small wheel base and smaller tires do make a difference it seems. However, this car can turn on a dime! I rarely need to do a 3-point turn as I can swing a tight turn on the street! You can easily fit 4 adults into this vehicle and we are seriously considering using it for a long road trip as it is so inexpensive to run. We often only have to fill the tank once or twice a month, which I know would vary depending on how long your commute is ... (more)
Title
There is a few Mitsubishi Mirage drivers in our city - and at least one guy who has the exact same car, age and color as ours - often see him whilst driving on the south and we always beep and wave at one another - really should meet him at some point!
Pros
Overall price we paid, excellent economy for gas etc, cute vehicle, easy to park.
Cons
Slightly cheaper looking finish on interior, a bit bumpier suspension, big trucks like to try to intimidate a smaller car.

This was my very first vehicle that my dad bought for me when I started college, so it was very slightly used as it was less than a year old. I loved the color, because my favorite color is green. And, best of all, it both matched my college colors (green and gold), so my car was awesome for adding touches of school cheer with decals and such. Even though I was a new college student when I received my car, I wish it were bigger at times, and sometimes I wish it were sportier. I had my heart set on a Firebird, but my parents thought I would kill myself with such a fast vehicle.
Title
I loved being able to test out the speed since different interstates were readily available. Being a young person who loved music, I would often rev and brake the car in rhythm with my music.
Pros
It was great on gas mileage for sure. I remember filling up my tank for less than $20 and it lasting all week, and I definitely joy ride a lot, especially on the highways. In addition to this, I went out on the weekends and drove back and forth to work. It always gave me a smooth and quiet ride, so I was very thankful for that.
Cons
I kind of had a love/hate relationship with the interior, because it was so light. I ate on the go, so I had to be careful. When I transitioned to marriage with kids, it was even harder. Another negative is the size, because I started having kids. It wasn't conducive for a family, because the car seat took up half the back seat bench.
