The 2003 Mitsubishi Galant is one I would recommend to anyone looking for a solid, reliable every day driver. The fuel economy is decent at around 28 MPG. With regular maintenance you should have little trouble with it. The brakes are among the best for a sedan. It is a medium sized sedan. It is a little cramped for a large family.
Story
I took this vehicle shopping for TVs twice. Both times it barely fit only after removing the TV from the box. This is an instance the meager space was detrimental.
Pros
On the whole, the best aspect of the vehicle is the reliability of it. The engine, transmission, and drive train in general require very little repair. Like any vehicle the better preventative care that you put into it, the longer it will last. Mine has around 280,000 miles on it and it is still running fine.
Cons
The most trouble I had were with the engine coils. I had to replace them multiple times. They were not cheap, and few parts for this vehicle will be cheap as it is a foreign car. The headlights tend to be expensive as well for whatever reason. At 280,000 it burns some oil, but that is to be expected. The cabin is a bit cramped for a large family. For someone who doesn't regularly have a lot of back seat passengers it will be fine. It only has moderate power for acceleration.

The overall build and quality of this car is amazing. On first look it's just an ordinary boring factory made vehicle. This car has been through 13 years of service and over 100,000 miles without a complaint. With regular maintenance this car has given me no troubles. It's been driven from Texas to Georgia to Michigan without hassle. I can depend on this car to go 25 miles or 2,500 miles without a hitch. This car has been my hero in snow, rain and ridiculous heat.
Story
If you are on budget in every way, this car can be your hero too. It will get you there on a minimum of gas. It will get you there without a lot of repair bills. This is a truly dependable car. You can count it to get you from A-B. It might not turn heads, but when you turn the key, it goes, every time.
Pros
The gas mileage on this car is very close to 28 miles on the highway. I love being able to drive all the way to work and back on empty. It's saved my life the day before payday more than once. The frame is super strong. I've been in a couple accidents and thanks to the real steel frame nobody was hurt. I also love the space in the backseat for tall passengers. I have children over 6ft tall and two fit comfortably in the rear.
Cons
There is nothing really special about the exterior. It looks like a standard cookie cutter low budget vehicle.

My Mitsubishi Galant is a great and reliable car. I drive about 40 miles a day and it still runs well for a fifteen year old car. It has great kick and can stop on a dime, perfect for traffic and crowded city roads. It has a lot of storage space for a basic sedan style car. A spacious trunk allows me to fit all my groceries nicely. I travel for sports as well and I never have to worry as to whether or not my equipment will all fit. I have had this car for fifteen years and only in the last 3 months have I had to have the radiator replaced... FOR THE FIRST TIME! The original radiator lasted 15 years, if that is not telling enough of how well put together this car is then I don't know what is. Mechanically the car is in perfect shape, as long as you keep up with regular maintenance, such... (more)
Story
Driving through Little 5 during a parade and someone threw confetti on my car.
