The Gallant Galant
The 2012 Mitsubishi Galant we drive is very quiet on the road, with a smooth ride. It idles quietly at traffic stops, too. The seats are plush and comfortable, and the front seats recline for resting. Everything in the car is in great condition and it looks new when we have it detailed. It handles well and is good on curvy, mountain roads. There are several types of ports for bring-along devices, which we like very much.

This car is cheap and basic but reliable.
I was looking for a four-door sedan vehicle from a Japanese car maker, because I think they last longer. I was looking for a newer car but also something on the cheaper end. I actually wanted a Camry or Accord, but I soon found that they were out of my price range. That's when I found out about the Galant. It was of similar size but cheaper. So after owning the Galant for a few months, it is about what I expected, which is a reliable sedan of Japanese make. However, it is definitely a step below the Camry or Accord. An issue I have with the car is that the paint is peeling off. The seats are not comfortable for me on long drives. Also, it is not good on gas. Another problem is that the interior of the vehicle is not holding up well. The carpets are thin and getting worn quickly. Also, the interior and dash is made of a cheap plastic that scratches very easily. At only 45,000 miles, I expected better. My Galant, while lacking in many areas, is very reliable, and I can depend on it to get me where I need to go safely. It is also very roomy inside with a large trunk space. I have driven a comparable year Camry, and it was superior in every way to the Galant. But it was also much more expensive for the same model year. I can say that if you are on a tight budget, get the Galant for reliable transport otherwise look elsewhere.
