This car brings me to college just fine, allowing me to navigate the freeway with ease yet I can never get myself to like it. It's low quality and unreliable, and as a tech person, it saddens me that there is barely any tech included other than a radio. It looks like garbage and I treat it like garbage. It's driven about 100000 miles and has broken down almost as many times (see cons). Fuel economy is on par with most sedans but it really doesn't matter because gas is so cheap. I don't notice it but others who ride with me claim that the seats are too hard. The car was marketed as a sports car and I'm pretty sure lack of quality was covered up with a 'performance' title (i.e. performance seats).
Story
I took an exit too fast in the rain and spun out onto a field. I was in the car with my family and even tough I knew that I should've been scared, I enjoyed it.
Pros
The car gets me to where I want to go without too much trouble. I fix any issues I find myself and so far there has not been anything that I could not fix. The engine may be lacking but there's still plenty of power to overtake anyone I need to.
Cons
This car is very unreliable. I had to swap out the hub cap, rotors, and brake pads on several occasions myself because taking it to the mechanic would have cost me more than the car was worth. The reason I had to swap them out was because the pads would wear out too quickly and the lug nut screws would get stripped after every 5th tire rotation. The left door speaker got flooded so the blinker wouldn't make a noise. Numerous fault codes lead to numerous DIY fixes, but nothing I couldn't fix until now. Now, the engine fan won't turn on automatically (I have to turn the AC on). Because of th... (more)

The build quality of the Pontiac G5 is pretty solid. There aren't very many interior rattles but there are definitely a few noticeable sounds - nothing too loud. I have personally put about 50,000 miles on the car and aside from needing oil changes, and alignment, and tires/wipers/brakes, I have yet to experience a single serious issue with the car. The interior materials are decent quality but, next to a nicer car like the new Ford Focus it doesn't really compare. It also hasn't really deteriorated anywhere in the car so I'd say that's a plus. The antennae of the car is a little loose but that could be a personal issue. Reliable, relatively comfortable, great mileage, and decent legroom. There is an issue electronically with the tire pressure sensors but all I have to do is manually c... (more)
Story
I have used this vehicle to go to many fun concerts and other events in my city as well as taken it with friends to parks and main street areas of the main city and nearby cities to visit. Always a fun time.
Pros
Great MPG No major issues Not super expensive Good stereo
Cons
Heavy doors Loose antennae Service tire monitor issues Some cabin noise Non-premium interior
