2009 Pontiac G6 - Pontiac G6 - I'm as surprised as you, it's still working.

Since purchasing my '09 Pontiac G6 six years ago, it has been a dependable car. I have had very few issues with it and I am nearly at 130,000 miles. The car runs fairly well still, but I have noticed that it is starting to slip the transmission in some lower gears. I have spoken to several people who have had this model before and they have told me that it is something they encountered as well.
Story
One harsh winter day, I was stopped at a red light just before the hill. When the light hit green, I hit the gas. My vehicle, however, didn't move all that quick. For the next 1/4 mile hill, I crawled up at 5 MPH white knuckling. I was worried she wouldn't make it, and I'd have to back down a snow covered hill. Luckily, she got up the hill. I will always remember that and make sure I have good... (more)
Pros
It seems insignificant, but I am extremely pleased with the vehicle's ability to crank out cold air despite (probably) having no Freon. Since purchasing the car, I have not refilled the A/C unit with Freon, but it still blows cold on very hot days. It doesn't take long, either. It gets right on it.
Cons
The biggest issue that I have with this vehicle is that the exterior gets broken down fairly quick. My front bumper and hood look as if they went into a shotgun arena and were used as protective barriers. Admittedly, I live in a place that can have some rough winters, so it is possible it's from salt. However, I believe that if the paint quality were higher, I would not have this problem. The vehicle is also starting to rust along the rocker panels and it is coming through the wheel well area. This is mostly cosmetic at the moment, but it makes it difficult to "show off" in a car that look... (more)

I own a 2009 Pontiac G6 that is dark grey with black and grey interior. It is a 4 door, automatic engine with both standard and satellite am radio options, as well as a cd player. There are front airbags and nice trunk space for a smaller car. I purchased it around 30,000 miles and it is currently at 103,000. Even though it has been almost 10 years, the body has stayed in tact, though this could be due to mostly being garage kept. The look and feel of the car is very sporty, yet sleek. All of the control options are straight to the point. It is a unisex vehicle.
Story
A fun memory was pulling off into the street on a hot day. I am extremely scared of bees, by the way. The inside of the car was so hot that a bee came near my window and immediately flew away, probably from fear of being burned from perceived fire. That is how hot the inside of the car can be in the summer!
Pros
There are a number of things I like about the vehicle. For starters, it is a very smooth ride with a quiet engine. All seats are comfortable, including the back seats. This was very surprising due to the size of the car, one would expect the rear passenger seats to be "squished" but they offer the same comfort as a bucket seat. What I love most is the driver seat has an automatic button that provides various levels of lower back support, which is great for long distance drives. For parents, it fits a standard stroller in the back and a few grocery bags. The grip of the steering wheel and s... (more)
Cons
The main issue I have is that you can not neatly fit three car seats in the back row. As an addendum, you would not be able to fit a double stroller in the trunk. The strangest con would be that the vehicle seems to trap heat inside, which is horrible if you live in a warm climate.

2009 Pontiac G6 - Cute but not comfortable.

I bought this car because I needed something quickly, and it was attractive and sporty. It has always had a tinny sound to the engine when it is being started which tends to die down after it runs a few minutes. The thing that bothers me the most is the size of the brake pedal. It is small and oddly placed. I have had my foot slip off it a couple of times, and this is very disturbing. I have owned many cars and have never had this problem before. I also don't like the fact that the driver's side door is the only door that can be unlocked with a key. There is also no cruise control. Even though the engine is only a four cylinder, it does not get much better mileage than the six-cylinder Impala I was driving before this. Now to what I do like. It is a cute car, and I have not h... (more)
Story
Drove from Vermont to Florida with my partner. It was a good trip, and the car did well.
Pros
Appearance. Handling.
Cons
Odd size and placement of brake petal. No lock on passenger side door. Brakes wear out quickly. No cruise control. Poor mileage for four cylinder.
