2007 Pontiac Torrent - Great lasting SUV
I have had my Pontiac Torrent for 9 years and counting. I've also driven it over 100,000 miles. I have to say, this is a VERY reliable and sturdy SUV. It doesn't matter if I'm moving people or cargo, it gets the job done.
Story
I did one time manage to fit 6 people in it to take them for ice cream. They were really excited to go!
Pros
First, the Torrent is very reliable. I have not had any major system issues in the 9 years I've owned it. Regular maintenance and smart driving has kept it going this long and I plan to keep doing just that.
Second, the Torrent is a Pontiac version of the Chevy Equinox. This means, if you ever have to replace a part, an Equinox's part will work for it. This can be beneficial if you find a Chevy part that's cheaper than a Pontiac one.
Third, it's very roomy. Lots of room for passengers as well as moving cargo. It's helped me out tremendously when moving to my new home.
Cons
I think the top con for the Torrent would be that the MPG could be better, 24HWY/20City. That can add up to a big price for gas.
2007 Pontiac Torrent - Overall, a good quality vehicle
My Pontiac Torrent has been a dependable vehicle for our family for nearly six years. Although Pontiac is no longer around, the truck platform is equivalent to the Chevy Equinox. It has had very few issues beyond those that are bound to happen to any vehicle over time.
Story
While probably not legal nor healthy for the vehicle, prior to having kids, I we would "ramp" a small knoll in the road to go slightly airborne. Not wise.
Pros
The vehicle is easy to handle and but has plenty of space for a family of five and their cargo. Nice power with lots of immediate get up.
Cons
Obviously, the greatest negative to this vehicle is that Pontiac is no longer an active brand. Beyond that, I am not particularly fond of the roof rack, which seems much too robust for the vehicle.
