I drive a 2009 Pontiac Vibe AWD in Mystic Blue. I have owned several vehicles in the past and this one by far is the most efficient out of them all. My previous vehicle was an SUV and the handling of this vehicle is LEAPS AND BOUNDS better than my last. Overall it is a good quality machine, suits my purposes very well, and is a pleasure to drive. I moved 10 hours from my hometown out to Virginia two months ago and managed to drive the Vibe the entire length of the trip in a single day with no problems or issues and without feeling cramped in the car despite packing my belongings in it.
Story
I moved ten hours with the car absolutely loaded to the gills with my personal affects and a cat in the passenger seat. It was a crazy trip down the east coast but we made it!
Pros
Some of my favorite features of the vehicle are cosmetic. I like the design of the interior and despite being a small car it still feels roomy and spacious. The CD player features an auxiliary-in port which is useful for people who keep their music on iPods or their cell phones. The car is easy to handle even for an inexperienced driver. The trunk area is all plastic which is great for when you're hauling wet clothes from the beach back to your house, or if some groceries spill. There are also several hidden compartments within the trunk area which I really like. The dashboard is easy to r... (more)
Cons
This car definitely does have it's cons. It does not have automatic door locks, it has roll-up windows, and it doesn't have cruise control. For some people the cloth interior may be considered a downside but I certainly don't mind. This is a small vehicle, there will be no lugging furniture in it. Also, this make and model was subject to recalls from the manufacturer which was a nuisance.

2009 Pontiac Vibe - Wish they still made them!

My Pontiac Vibe AWD is one of the best cars that I've ever driven. It makes it through Buffalo winters with ease, has great traction on many different road conditions, and surprises people with how rugged it can be. However, it is also roomy and has helped me move classrooms and apartments/homes multiple times. It is easy to drive. However, the gas mileage isn't the greatest (one of the smallest gas tanks I think!) and the tire pressure lights go on frequently (one of the most sensitive I think!). Other than needing a new battery, new shocks, and a few tires, I've maintained it as needed and required, and it is still a beautiful vehicle with no rust or aesthetic issues. However, it is an amazing vehicle for a reasonable amount of money. I bought mine used - one previous owner - back in... (more)
Story
This vehicle got me through one of the worst recent blizzards in Buffalo - driving through zero-visibility conditions through 2 feet of snow. I managed though, thanks to a lot of practice, prayers, and my Vibe!
Pros
This vehicle is reliable, rugged, sturdy, and has a good acceleration. It performs consistently well over time. I love the stereo system in it, that it remembers where you left the volume when you turn off the car (something other cars don't, always starting you at a low volume.) I also really love the sun roof. It is reasonable to maintain cost-wise, as well.
Cons
The gas tank seems very small for a vehicle this size, which requires frequent fill ups. The tire pressure light is extremely sensitive as well, going on frequently even though the tire pressures were perfect.
