I adore my Prius V. It is roomy, is a smooth ride, and handles really well. I previously had the Prius C, which is the economy, small version, and I can confidently say the Prius V is much roomier, but the extra weight does knock the MPG down a little. I thought about just getting the regular Prius, but the V's extra room sold me on the purchase. I am not an SUV driver, so this care will be the closest I get to driving one. The seats are comfy, and the backseats also recline and can slide forward or backwards as well, which is great for passengers as well! The car is still pretty new, so I've not had any issues out of it to note. The MPG is what you'd expect from a hybrid vehicle. I don't think I could go back to a car that is not a hybrid. The car does also have three "modes", one is ... (more)
Story
Our 1 year old loves riding and usually chatters while we ride around town doing mundane chores.
Pros
This car has plenty of space in the back hatch. It also has a trunk cover so you can maintain some degree of privacy of what you have in the back hatch. The car's MPG is great and filling up doesn't hurt your bank account too much. The backseat is very roomy and three people can sit comfortably.
Cons
The car does have a lot of bells and whistles. Particularly the radio system and the navigation. It is a bit much at first, and definitely not something you'd want to try to learn while driving. It has a touch screen, so trying to find a station while driving maybe isn't the safest, and the navigation system is useful, but perhaps not as accurate as using Google maps on your phone.

The Prius V is the perfect car for the small family. There have been no concerns from a reliability standpoint or for repairs at this point.
Story
This was the car that we had when we moved with our newborn across the country. The cargo area is perfect for laying a blanket down to change diapers in, and we unfortunately have needed to change many blow outs that way.
Pros
It gets wonderful gas mileage for its size. It has excellent cargo space to fit strollers and other baby gear plus grocery shopping room. It easily fits a four adults plus a car seat in the middle. I liked how it also has hitches in the back to hook up our dog to keep him safe as we drive.
Cons
Getting a car seat to fit correctly was a bit challenging. It seems to pop up a bit in the middle. I also wish that the Prius V would still be available, as Toyota has discontinued it.
