2010 Toyota Yaris - Great first impression.
I just recently bought my 2010 Toyota Yaris and I'm extremely happy with the purchase. I really enjoy the space that I have in the cabin (I have long legs and there is plenty of room) and I also enjoy the visibility that the large windows provide. The car handles very well and I've never had any issues with alignment or parts needing to be replaced.
Story
This car was my saving grace getting through my most recent move! It was perfect for moving around some larger objects to the new place and its compact size was easy to fit into some of the smaller parking spaces.
Pros
The absolutely best quality of this car is its reliability. Mine has 113,000 miles on it and it still drives perfectly. The fact that you can put down the rear seats makes it so you have far more trunk room than a traditional sedan. The car has very large windows which makes it really easy to see around you and identify any cars that may be in your blind spot.
Cons
If I get really picky, there are a few small details I don't like about this car. I dislike that the lights are on the steering wheel, which makes it much more likely that I forget to turn them on. I don't like that the speedometer is in the center of the dashboard because it makes it much more difficult to get an idea of your speed without taking your eyes entirely off the road. You will definitely want to get an upgrade with the radio and speakers system as well because the basic system is incredibly dated.
2007 Toyota Yaris - Toyota Yaris long-term quality
The Toyota Yaris has been the most gas-saving and dependable car I have ever owned. The gas mileage is what appealed to me in the beginning, along with the recommended long-term value of the Toyota brand. The car was an economical choice, and the longevity of owning it for over ten years with no major problems has been a bonus.
Story
Driving this car to WrestleMania has to be one of the top memories as this was the first short road trip in the car and having to navigate so many different events and places was easy in the Yaris.
Pros
The car's gas mileage is about 40 mpg, so the savings in gas has been tremendous. The car is small yet spacious with a four-door design that is still enough to fit numerous people or other cargo. Parking the car is easy as the short front and small, overall size makes it easy to fit into small spaces. The comfort level of the car is surprisingly good being it's so small, but it does deliver a comfortable ride.
Cons
The space in the car can also be a drawback if you have a growing family as fitting car seats along with cargo/other people can become a hassle. The model I own comes with basic features, such as manual locks/windows, having the power options as standard would have been nice. I also learned later on that the car needed bigger tires to perform as its best, something that was never mentioned when I bought it and not until years later did I discover this fact.
