I love this car! I bought a white certified pre-owned 528xi and really don't have many negatives about this car. It feels great to drive and has terrific performance - the "get up and go" is absolutely phenomenal. It's also great on gas mileage, has a very sleek interior and still looks sharp on the road even though the model is nine years old. I actually prefer this model to the newer models.

I love driving this through the parks - the scenery and curvy roads make for an incredibly fun drive.
Pros
There are a lot of things that are positive about this car. First, the body style is still sleek and I believe to be timeless as it relates to the BMW. Second, the performance is second to none in my experience. The car hugs the road and its handling is exceptional. It also has a lot of power and is just an incredibly fun drive. I also love the interior - the faint orange ambient lights are a great addition to add some sportiness to your drive in the evening. Cons
The only real negative on I have on this vehicle is the space in the backseat. It is a bigger body style than the 3-series, however a driver sitting comfortably would not allow for a tall adult to sit directly behind them comfortably. Also, the cup holders are kind of strange and prone to getting knocked off track since they extend from the dashboard - this has been fixed in recent models, I believe. These are hardly negative enough to prevent me from buying another car.

The BMW 5 series is an excellently made car that I am very impressed with. It is the first BMW that I have ever owned and at first I was hesitant when I first purchased it but it has surpassed all my expectations. It has a very clean and sleek look but is still sporty. The interior remains clean and the leather seats are very comfortable and durable. There is plenty of room in the car, especially in the front, but the back seats are a little bit more cramped, something that I found is very typical of many other BMWs that I have seen. The gas mileage was around 24 mpg, which is within the range of other similar luxury vehicles.
