Think twice before buying discontinued vehicles
First and foremost I should point out that when I purchased my Mazda B2300, it was the first time I was financing a vehicle. I was working with a very small budget. Based on this, it was an absolutely fine truck for the price, and my needs at the time. It didn't have much power, but gas mileage was good. There was only one previous owner who maintained it well and put in a spray on bed liner as well as an aftermarket stereo. By far, the biggest downside was that the truck, as well as the comparable truck (Ford Ranger) had been discontinued, making it difficult and/or expensive to maintain or repair.

Reliable
This is my puppy mobile. I load my puppy in the front seat, put on his seatbelt and hand roll down the window--and we're off. We're off for our adventure, typically hiking or to the dog park. This pickup simply makes me happy. Owned by a little old man when I bought it in 2009, it was meticulously clean. The bucket seats have no wear or tear. Cloth small checker board tan and black. With the original carpet all looked brand new. The original radio with tape deck. No holes, green paint still looked brand new, passed smog with flying colors and drives like a dream. This is my truck, and its reliable. Because it's a truck, I don't mind if I get a little dirt on it and then clean it. The long bed has a liner, and I put a doggie bed back there for longer rides. Or my bicycle. The camper shell matches too. This truck just gets regular oil changes and helps me enjoy time with my dog. The air conditioner blows cold air, and the heater blows hot. It's a great truck, and I am glad I have it. I am also glad I didn't buy like a Tacoma for 100 times more money.

Dependable
I love the Mazda truck due to its dependability and low use of gas. This vehicle has carried me many miles and until it reached the 180,000 mark had relatively minor issues. After that point things have been breaking down. Such as the water pump blew out at the same time the radiator blew causing a head gasket issue. It has an oil leak that can't be solved and a power steering fluid leak. The truck has a blind spot when you turn to look to the left. Overall this has been a great truck for me and my mother to move and haul thing in. I love the fact that it will fit into small spaces and still be higher off the ground to see better than in a car. If I had to buy a truck again and they still were making the Mazda pickup I would buy it again. This truck is still going even with issue at over 200,000 miles and 16 years later. Have I gotten my money worth and then some? The answer is a resounding yes.
