Awesome ride
The Mazda 3 is a sporty looking car with great speed and good gas mileage. It has a five speed engine which is great for those who prefer the power of a manual transmission but can only drive an automatic. I like the way it is rounded in the back for that sporty look. The radio controls on the steering wheel are very convenient and the blue lighting of the front panels makes it very easy to see.
The maintenance on this vehicle has been cost effective and really after four years I have only had to replace the battery in addition to its regular oil changes, tires, etc. The only con here being that the plastic undercarriage rips easily and drags a bit until it needs to be ripped off.
Overall, the car drives beautifully, its fun and sporty, the acceleration is great and the brakes work quickly as well. Its great to travel in and a great purchase overall.

excited, total satisfaction
I love the way my Mazda performs on the road. It really hugs the road and handles corners with very little effort. The Mazda three has a sleek, sporty look, and it is fuel-efficient.

Fun to Drive, Some Concerns
I purchased this car after searching for a few years for an affordable subcompact that also didn't look like a "mom vehicle." The Mazda's styling is a nice blend between fierce and smooth, and has the handling to go with it. There is a noticeable difference in handling between the lower models and the Touring/Grand Touring models, which is made even more apparent with a good set of tires.
For the price point, the Mazda gives quite a bit of bang for your buck. The interior is comfortable and simple, though the backseat really isn't meant for tall people or constantly carpooling. It handles well, still is catchy (at least, in certain colors), and is still regarded as a good purchase amongst the economy subcompact class.
My biggest issues are with the gas mileage, which is abysmal for a car this size. It definitely should be better, but even with conservative driving leaves much to be desired. Mazda paint is notoriously soft and thin, and my car already has had paint issues, the first being when it was only 3 years. It had to be resprayed, but I question the quality and longevity of the paint used. The front power windows also failed after 4 years, and has caused me not to use the sunroof in hopes of avoiding a similar fate as the front windows.
All in all, it is a fun, comfortable car to drive for the price point. I do wish Mazda gave more options, for example, no power windows or no sun roof, because I would love to have a car with the handling of the Touring/Grand Touring models without all the unnecessary mechanical "amenities".
