2011 Mazda Mazda2 - Fuel Efficient
At the time of purchasing this vehicle I needed a car fast. This car was very fuel efficient, which I required since I drove long distances. This car has served me well in various capacities. This car has had little to no real problems other than normal maintenance. The sport edition of the Mazda 2 is the base model, in other words there is no cruise control, navigation, spoiler, premium rims, etc. The interior is nice, basic, and easy to maintain, however after 50,000 miles there is a little rattle or sticking noise issued from it. Maintenance on this vehicle is relatively cheap, and with some mechanical knowledge easy to work on. This vehicle does not haul things well as it is very small, however if you are careful you can haul a cushioned single person chair on top of it. The trunk ... (more)
Historia
My wife and I take road trips every so often to West Texas from Houston. We do not like stopping unless we have to and this vehicle is very fuel efficient. We were able to make it to our destination within one stop for fuel. We spent a week over in West Texas where there was no pollution, no other cars. Our little Mazda, however had hard time making it up some hills, but it did it. We didn't k... (more)
A Favor
This vehicle is fuel efficient, comfortable for 2 people or less, cheap, and easily maintained.
En Contra
No hauling capacity, more than 2 people and the vehicle feels cramped, no cruise control, only has 100 horsepower and thus does not get-up-and-go very well.
2011 Mazda Mazda2 - A great and reliable car
I have been very happy with my 2011 Mazda Mazda2. The hatchback design and folding back seats makes it very practical for running errands or transporting large cargoes. In fact, we even drove it across the USA, loaded up with belongings, when we moved. The fact that it is a four-door makes transporting other people easy. A friend who is 6'4" once sat in the back seat next to two others and declared that it was surprisingly spacious. It handles very well. I was initially drawn to it because of how compact it was for a hatchback, as I prefer to drive compact cars.
Historia
My boyfriend and I drove the car from the Southeast to the West Coast, filled it to the brim with hundreds of records, too many books to count, and even an extremely large canvas painting. Somehow, we made it back with no issues at all (just had to have the air pressure in the tires checked a couple times!)
A Favor
I like that it is a compact car and has an automatic transmission, as I cannot drive cars with a manual transmission. It is four years old and the paint is still shiny and super glossy. It has a sporty silhouette that reminds one of a more expensive car (like some of the Porsche crossovers) and a cool 80s retro fabric on the seats.
En Contra
It takes only synthetic oil, which can be pretty pricey. The serpentine belt wore out after 60,000 miles and had to be replaced. It tends to rattle at high speeds on the freeway, even though the alignment has been checked and is totally fine. It doesn't have a lot of storage compartments up front (just the glove box and some open compartments and cupholders in the center console).
2013 Mazda Mazda2 - I love how economy-efficient and small my car is.
When I was looking for a new car a few years ago, I knew I wanted a small hatchback but wasn't sure of the model/make that I wanted. I went to Mazda (thanks to a friend's recommendation) and told them a description of the car I wanted. I drove away with a new (at the time) Mazda2 and have loved it ever since. It has everything I need and just the right amount of "tech" that I need and want in a car. It's extremely fuel-efficient and has great city and highway MPG. I love how small my car is, it makes it that much easier to park. I haven't had any issues with the Mazda2 since I've gotten the vehicle, and the manual is fairly easy to read and understand being that I really don't know much about cars. It's a very easy and smooth ride highway and city, and I like how to the gas gauge is el... (more)
Historia
Driving this to the beach during the spring/summer time is my favorite memory.
A Favor
Some pros would be the fuel efficiency, gas gauge being electric, and the fact that I have a USB charging port, so I don't have to buy an external one. The size and room of the interior seating is roomier than expected. The trunk space is a great size, and overall, I love the size of the car.
En Contra
Cons would be that I do not have cruise control, and I wish that the gas gauge told me how many miles to empty I have. I also do not like that the windows are not tinted and that the gas tank is so small.
