Unreliable
The GMC Sonoma was my very first truck. I owned it for about six years before it eventually became too costly to repair. It was a little red stick shift with a four-cylinder engine. The positive feelings about it are mostly from nostalgia. I made many memories in that pickup and drove it everywhere I could. The pros were the good gas mileage, so it was cheap to drive, and that it was a standard, which in my opinion, is much more fun to drive. The cons were far greater. It had very little towing power and was also very unreliable. That truck consistently broke down. I had to replace the spark plugs, alternator, multiple batteries, the radiator, and the engine. I also had to replace the belt multiple times. It once broke down on me over 1,000 miles from home, requiring me to use the last of my vacation money repairing it. It also broke down in pouring rain twice! If somebody is looking for a smaller pickup, I would recommend it for the price and the gas mileage. I would not recommend it for reliability.
